Unexpected love

Chapter 1

I have to move to Oklahoma. Why? Because my mom can't stand being away from my older brother Todd. He's only been gone two years, two years. That's not even that long. He's been down almost every other weekend even.

I was packing while I was listening to "Sound of Silence" by Disturbed.

"And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening"

"Are you done packing?" mom interrupted.

"Not yet," I said,"Why? We aren't leaving till morning."

"I talked to your father and we decided to go now so we could meet Todd for breakfast. You can sleep in the car."

We. She means she wanted to do it so dad, being the loving man he is, said he didn't care because he likes her happy. "Okay. Just give me about twenty more minutes and I'll be down."

"Okay sweetheart, hurry so we can leave as soon as possible."

I can't believe she really just did that. I guess it's a good thing I didn't have any friends here in Texas. It would be really hard to leave them.

--------Twenty minutes pass--------

"I'm ready," I say looking at my mother.

"Great! Let's head out," she says.

My father nods, grabs the keys and my luggage I brought downstairs, and heads out to the car. My mom follows behind him. I take one last look at the house, my house. I lived there for as long as I could remember and now...now I'm forced to leave it.
