Unexpected love

Chapter 2

Nicole POV
"Nicole honey, wake up. We are taking a bathroom break," my father said sweetly. He's always so nice to me. I'm so happy I have him. He's always been my best friend. That sounds pathetic, I know.

"Okay dad," I say getting out of the truck and stretching.

I walk in holding onto the back of my dad's shirt, which I do when I'm scared. I'm in a new place and there is this girl looking at the candies. She looks creepy. But I shouldn't judge her by her looks. She couldn't be that bad. Could she?

Once I use the bathroom I meet my dad by the drinks. "You want a Coke right." he says.

"Yes please," I reply," can I get a candy too?"

"If you grab me a Snickers too."

"Okay," I said smiling.

I got to the candy section. That girl was still there looking confused. I stared at her for a minute but then proceeded to grab dad's candy. I looked around for what I want. I hear the song We Will Rock You playing in the store. I start humming to it.

"I see you like Snickers," the creepy girl said. "Personally I like the Whatchamacallit the best though."

I was confused. Was she really talking to me? No one ever talks to me willingly. "What?" I said confused.

"Have you never heard of a Whatchamacallit?!" she practically screamed. I was scared. Was she going to hurt me?

"Uh..yeah..I have..you just caught me off guard is all," I said.

"The Payday, Reeses, and KitKat are great ones too."

How much was this girl gonna talk to me about candy? I just kept looking at her like she was crazy. I mean, she is.

"OH MY GOSH!" she yelled. I jumped really bad. She laughed. "Sorry I scared you, I just remembered I haven't introduced myself. I'm Renea." She reached her hand out to shake my hand. I shook her hand. "I haven't seen you around. What's your name?"

"Uhh...Nicole?" I say.

"Are you sure? You don't seem sure." She says.

"Yeah, I'm sure," I say,"I just..people usually don't talk to me." I wasn't lying.

"Okay. Where do you go to school?"

She is really nosy. "Actually I just got into Oklahoma. I just moved here from Texas. Me and my parents are going to my brothers house and staying there until we find a house. The day after tomorrow my new school starts."

"Cool. Well. It's getting late. I'll see you later. Bye!"

"Bye?"

"You ready?" I jumped and turned to see my father smiling at me. "You meet a friend?"

"I don't know. She was kind of all over the place." It was better than the normal quiet and boring though. "Her name was Renea."

"See? I knew you'd make some friends here." He kissed my head. We checked out and headed back to the car. Mom was in there sleeping. I thought about what dad said. Friend? Did she even want to be my friend? I doubt I'd ever see her again anyway.
