Pregnant

Amethyst sat impatiently in the doctors office. She was waiting for the doctor to come back with the results. The at home pregnancy tests were in the trash can in the bathroom in her room. It had been a week since she took them. She quickly planned an appointment to make sure she wasn't.

It felt hard to breathe. She tried to focus on the wall. She tried to focus on anything. The seconds felt like eternity, then there was a knock on the door and the doctor walked in.

"Miss Dove."

"Yup!"

"I have your results here." He sat down in those swivel Doctor chairs. He flipped through the papers again just to make sure she was the right patient. "It looks like you're pregnant." Her heart dropped.

"What?" She laughed. This has to be a joke right?

"Well I have to ask, are you sexually active."

"Yes. Very much so."

"Do you use condoms?"

"Yes. How far along am I?"

"Around week."

"Oh."

"Congratulations. Now there are a few options you can choose for this. You can keep it, put it up for adoption, or abortion."

"I'm not killing it."

"Take your time. There's no rush."

"Thank you Doctor."

"What made you decide to take a test?"

"Well my boyfriend and I spent the night together but something felt wrong afterwards."

"Good thing you went with your gut feeling." He smiled. The doctor then explained the process to her, the mood swings, the cravings, change in body. He assured her everything will be normal. "I also recommend you tell your boyfriend."

"I... I'm worried."

"Does he abuse you?"

"Oh no no no. He's the best, his family is... Different. I'm worried to how they'll react."

"Everything will be ok" he assured her with a smile. "If you have any other questions, you have my number."

"Thank you doctor." Amethyst nodded and left the office. Walking back to the school she started to cry.

'How am I supposed to tell him?' She thought. She thought over everything. Before she knew it she was back at the school.

Wiping her eyes she walked back into her dorm building and walked passed Rey, who was too busy studying to notice anything.

Cleaning up her face she went to Rey. "Hey!" She smiled, acting as if nothing was wrong.
