I've always felt like I've had some kind of sixth sense when I know someone's looking at me. It seems weird, but I've always caught people when they're looking and I still have no clue how.
I noticed it a few times. He dropped a few hints, I think. I thought about them a lot. We laughed so hard after falling on the turf field, exhaustion washing over and childishness overpowering our desires to be seen as mature and smart adolescents. Tagging another friend, chasing everyone, laughing until it hurt, and talking while staring as our fiends bolted from one another in a children's game. Tagged next, I bolted after him. Slipping and falling, I began to laugh into hysterics, in pain yet joyous as ever. Everyone laughed. After a few minutes to calm down, I eventually tricked and tagged him. He asked if there was a "tag backs" rule and I said that wasn't fair so he could tag anyone he wanted to. And of course, he decided to bolt after me and I was tagged by him yet again. After almost an hour of tagging each other and running away, we relaxed for fifteen minutes and walked a bit. A few people went home when we left the store. We walked back to the field and the two others with us went home. Checking my phone, I realized everyone besides us went home. We talked about a few things before I sat by the benches. He sat a bit far away from me but it gave me space to gaze at him without seeming obvious. We talked more about random things. I told him I was anxious and confused about things at that moment and he told me to draw or write how I felt. As I began, I looked around seeking inspiration to find him looking at me. The eye contact was held for at least a full second before his eyes snapped away. As I was working on another one and he blurted out, "How cool would it be to read people's minds?". Confused, I said, "What?". He said, "You'd be able to tell when someone's hiding something like emotions from you.". He proceeded to make a nerdy joke and said, "You could find out secrets someone wouldn't tell you, too. That'd be so cool.". I laughed and said, "But what if you find out someone doesn't like you as much as you thought? Wouldn't that be kinda sad?". I wanted to see if you noticed. He made an unreadable expression, but I could tell he wanted to talk about something but, how to bring it up, I had no clue. He left and I wrote more and more, thinking about things we talked about. I'm still thinking about what you said and if you're trying to get something to me. I'm still thinking about how you looked away when I saw you gazing at me.
