Every time his eyes shifted to the opaque door, his body shook with fear. He had no knowledge about what was being done to him. He felt like he was a rat being experimented on.
It was true. He was being experimented on. As the days were passing, the doctors and scientists in the lab were working hard to figure out how his DNA worked. How he could cause lightning to strike on a sunny day.
As she walked in with a tray, she lifted up a finger to her lips while he watched her. She couldn't risk the doctors and nurses hearing anything odd.
Surprisingly, he obeyed and silently watched as she approached him by his bed. Very gently, she set the tray down on the table near the bed and her gaze shifted to him.
He looked towards the metallic tray, noticing a piece of bread and a glass of cold water. His mouth watered and he gulped, his eyes glued to them.
It had been two week that he hadn't indulged in a meal. Not even a single bite of food. This left his throat dry and his stomach growling all day long, and at the sight of the bread and water, he felt even hungrier.
Without a word, she lifted the piece of bread from the tray and directed it towards his pale and chapped lips.
He felt intimidated, thinking that she might be poisoning him, but once he heard his stomach growl again, he parted his lips.
A soft smile formed across her lips and she gently placed it in his mouth, watching as he hungrily chewed it down.
Why was she helping him? She herself couldn't answer that question.
