*Janessa's POV*

It was Thursday night, almost close to the weekend. I still had to ask my parents for permission to attend the party.

My parents were hardly ever home. Their jobs kept them busy from being home and with me. My mom was a lawyer with many cases to solve. She was one of the most important and well known lawyers in Manhattan. My father was just as well known as my mother, he works in the military.

We were above the middle class. We owned a beautiful, modern, glass house. My mother was very into architecture in her late twenties, and once she found out she was pregnant with me, she wanted a spacious house that my siblings and I could be running around. With her job and my father in the military, money wasn't a problem.

Their jobs were time consuming and I was lucky to even have dinner with them. I wasn't always alone, I had a house keeper, Rosita.

Rosita was in her early thirties and still in college. She has been there for me since I could remember. Rosita is from Guatemala and came to the United States, seeking for a better job, just as everybody else. Her skin was clear and flawless. Her light brown eyes and caramel skin color made any man fall in love with her. She wouldn't let herself fall in love or allow herself to date anyone though. For the reason being of losing her husband.

Rosita's husband was killed back in Guatemala. He was a drug dealer, looking for easy money. They were bankrupt. No one would help them out and he just wanted to give Rosita everything he could. One night, as they were walking along the river, he was shot. He was shot right in the heart. Rosita cried for help and held on to him. Before she could say goodbye and how much she loved him, he passed away, into a better life. She always held herself responsible for not being able to say goodbye.

"Jass, ready for dinner?" Rosita asked, as soon as I walked outside my bedroom, where I spent most of my time.

"Are my parents home?" I asked.

"No sweetie, they are still at work, as usual." Rosita said, with an accent.

"Oh, okay. Do you think they would allow me to attend a party?"

"Where is this coming from? Is it a boy?" She gasped.

"No, maybe, yes! He's quite beautiful." I couldn't seem to keep him off my mind.

"Tell me everything about him!"

"Well... he's tall compared to me, and he smells so good! Oh like uncle Mike. Plus he's so sweet and he knows how to dress." I smiled like crazy.

"He sounds perfect! I have to meet him mija."

"Yes I know Rosita," I rolled my eyes," making both of us giggle.

Dinner was delicious and homework was done. Time to watch some Grey's Anatomy!

As I was 10 minutes inside the show I received a message.

*Ding*

I stared at my iPhone, surprised to see his name on my screen. As I unlocked my phone I received another message. My heart was racing!

"Hey Jass, its Jayce! How are you? Sorry to message you late at night."
"I just wanted to ask if we were still on for Saturday?"

"Hi Jay, I am great! How about you? C: & I am not sure yet. I haven't spoken to my parents.

"I am good, thanks to you. (;"
"Hopefully you can still be my date this weekend. See you tomorrow. Get your beauty sleep. Goodnight Jass. Stay beautiful."

"You are so sweet, and so do I. See you tomorrow Jay, stay handsome.(;"

As we said our goodbyes my heart was pounding and my hands were shaking! The cutest guy in school is talking to me! How lucky could I be!

Just as soon as I put my phone down, I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in!"

"Hey baby, how are you?"

"Mom! I am great! I missed you," I got up, fixing my pajamas.

"Rosita told me everything about this party and a BOY!" She practically shouted as soon as she said boy.

"Mom calm down! Dad might hear."

"Sweetie who is this boy? Are you guys using protection? Do we need to have the talk?"

How embarrassing.

"It's just a boy mom and really? We don't need to have the talk!" I nearly shrieked and died of embarrassment. My cheeks turning bright red.

"Okay sweetie, fine. Goodnight now. Get some sleep. You will need the beauty for this Saturday honey. You may go to the party."

"Oh thank you mom! I love you."

"I love you too sweetie."

She then closed my door. I ran to my closet. Excited to see if I had anything to wear.

Nothing, nothing, nothing! Over hundreds of skirts, jeans, dresses, tops, and etc. I had nothing to wear. I need to make a quick turn to the mall tomorrow.

By the time I was done looking through my clothes it was midnight. I need sleep. It was quite late to message Jayce and let him know I can go. I will just tell him tomorrow.

I turned off my lights. I put on my favorite album on Spotify, Magical Mystery Tour, by the Beatles.
