The drive back home was silent. I could feel Mom's frustration leaking out of her and onto me and I didn't like it. It was a foreign feeling. She didn't even play music. The moment she parked in the garage I grabbed my bag and headed to my room without sharing even a glance to her. I went on my laptop hoping the next 4 hours will last forever.
I hoped they were laughing at me, making fun of me. Because that would mean he wasn't going to actually pop up at my house and make me come to their stupid party. How does he even know my address? He must be a stalker. Another reason to not go to this strangers house. And my mother is encouraging him to come too. She's failing in this protect your child department. There is too high of a chance this random man isn't a murderer or rapist.
She wouldn't make me go if I really didn't want to go. I know this, but it didn't ease my anxiety. I plopped on my bed and dug through my bag to get my computer before pushing my bag onto the floor. At some point after going on my laptop I passed out, only to wake up to the sunlight that usually pours into my room gone.
I hear the muffled sound of the doorbell ringing from the inside of my room. I let out a loud groan/scream and roll over pushing my face into my pillow. I could hear my mom almost excitedly jump down the staircase to rip open the front door.
Some loud conversation seeps through the floor into my room, silence no longer existing. Suddenly their words start to be more clear and I could make out what they were saying. Then I realized that they were approaching my room. I quickly sit up and roll out of my bed almost sprinting to my door to try to lock it.
I wasn't fast enough and my bedroom door swings open. My unbalanced body weight from my clambering around out of my bed pushes me forward into a defined hard chest.
Muscly arms surround me and clamp around my fat waist as I start to slide towards to floor. My feet then proceed to leave the ground as he picks me up and sets me down in a stabilized stance. His dark brown eyes shine down on me, his hand traveling up my back to my hair. Mom quickly bursts between us and his hands leave my body.
She pushes me back against him, out of my bedroom and towards the stairs. "You two have fun, don't do anything illegal and please take care of my daughter." She pleads to him and addresses us. He wraps an arm around my waist and leads us down the stairs towards the front door. "I'm trusting you, Per. I love you!" She yells as he opens the door and leads us into the dark night. I lift up a hand and wave bye to her before the door shuts behind us.
He turns to me, looking down at my small but wide frame. His hands rub my arms up and down. He offers a kind smile. "You ready? We're a little early because we wanted to set up. I also know I told you 'small get together' but it's more like a party. I'm Ashton by the way if you forgot." He says. I look to my driveway to see the Honda that I saw him in the other day. "Tonight's going to be fun and relaxing, I promise. My friends are accepting and you'll be in our group in no time."
