Blake's POV
The early hours' cool breeze nips at my bare arms, as myself and the beauty beside me stroll out of Beacon, hand in hand. Still on the campus, Yang leads me down a narrow path, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips."So, where are we going that we had to get up hours earlier than we usually do?" I wonder aloud, offering the girl next to me a sly look.
My playful glare is ignored as the girl keeps her focus forwards with a content sigh. "You'll see."
I huff and roll my eyes. "I can hardly wait..."
It isn't long after the conversation between us stops when Yang takes a sharp left around the building into a shaded region. There, she pulls out silver keys, clad with a yellow pendant in the shape of a burning heart. I furrow my brows as she lets go of my hand to bend down and fiddle with the lock of a white pull up door. Everything is revealed as soon as the garage shutter clutters open. The early morning sunlight shines upon Yang's pride and joy - Bumblebee. Now, I can vaguely remember her telling me about the school having a number of storage spaces for the vehicles of the students here at Beacon - this one must be hers.
"Right, so you woke me up and brought me all the way out here just to look at your bike?" I dryly state.
Yang shakes her head with a knowing smile. "This is just our ride to reach our destination." With that she ducks into the small storage space and wheels out her bike after releasing the resting break. Straddling the seat, she whips on her yellow helmet, starts the ignition and revs the engine, giving me a flirtatious glance as she fixes her sunglasses over her eyes.
Leaning back on my hip, I raise an eyebrow. "Seriously, you expect me to get on that thing?" When all I receive is a nod, I sigh and shake my head. "Look Yang, it's sweet what you want to do, but I don't even have-" My words are cut off when a black helmet is shoved in my hands. "B-But what about my ears?" I whisper with worry - hey, it may be early hours, but you never know who's listening.
This causes Yang to beam. "That's exactly why I went out and purchased you a customised helmet. It has your emblem printed on the side." When I turn the helmet around, indeed my signature mark is printed in white on the side. "And, I even got two slits put in the top where your ears can sit." She muttered the parts she knows I don't want being broadcast.
Smiling up at the girl, I hold the helmet close to my chest. "See? This is one of the main reasons why I love you... You're so sweet and considerate..." I blush and shyly look away.
The girl before me waves me off energetically. "Oh Blakey, stop with all the compliments. Jeez, you give me a hard time keeping my cool - just those few words alone nearly have me blushing like crazy!" I laugh at the typical behaviour of my partner in crime before placing the helmet on my head. "Come on then, jump on!" Yang calls as she pats the space behind her. I roll my eyes playfully but comply all the same.
Once I'm sat behind the blonde beauty, I freeze, not exactly sure where to put my hands. I opt for resting them on my lap. "So, where are we heading?"
"Just hold on tight and you'll soon see." She winks, which is barely visible due to her wearing tinted frames, but because of the close proximity, I'm able to make it out. Her cheeky smile alone would have been enough to tell me what her action was. I've read the books; the boy takes the girl out on his motorcycle for a nice, calm, romantic ride - Yang Xiao Long? Floors the accelerator resulting in me nearly falling off the bike. If it weren't for my (catlike) reflexes - whipping my arms around her waist - I would have been a heap on the pavement.
Eyes wide, I look up the best I can as the wind howls through my ears. "Yang!" I squeak.
Yang's POV
The sudden murderous grip around my waist tells me that Blake hadn't been holding onto anything when I started to drive... I should have checked before we took off, shouldn't I? Despite the wind lashing against my ears, I manage to depict a small voice cry my name. "Yang!""Blake?" When I receive no reply, I begin to slow down my speed. "Hey, it's alright. I promise this is perfectly safe - nothing bad is going to happen."
When I feel her tense body loosen and a kiss on my cheek, I grin wildly. "I love you." Blake mutters, as she brings herself closer to me, so rather than her having me in a vice grip, she has me in a hug to keep herself on the bike.
"I love you too." When I'm certain she's comfortable and has a firm grip on me, I begin to speed up.
Soon enough, we're back to full speed, winds whipping through my hair, scenery flying by. I love the feeling of the refreshing breeze toying with my hair and the loud crashes of the air particles colliding with my ears. I also love the feeling of Blake's arms snaked around my waist - the warmth spreading throughout my body as her heartbeat pounds against my back in a natural steady rhythm. My own heartbeat begins to pick up speed as I remember where I'm taking her...
