Horse Tales,Stories and Poems: Racing A Horse Poem

I ran as fast as I could.

I could see them close behind.

I wasn't about to give up.

He pushed me faster and faster.

I used my last bits of energy.

I lunged forward with everything I had.

Then I was able to rest.

I won well we won.

I was so relieved.

He gave me a good pat then slowed me down.

We went to the winners circle and they gave us a trophy.

The next day was the second race.

My legs were sore.

I just ignored it.

We went to the gates and got loaded in.

The bell rang and then we took off.

I was lagging behind and I didn't know why.

I tried to go faster but I just couldn't.

Then just like that my feet came out from under me.

I went tumbling to the ground face first into the dirt.

The jockey went quit a ways in front of me.

He got trampled by three horses and got killed instantly.

I was lying in the dirt in pain.

Three people came over me and checked all of my legs.

My front left leg had been shattered.

They started to put a tarp around me.

The vet came over to me with a needle.

She gave me the shot.

That was when I realized that I was being put down.

As I began to drift off I could start to see a light.

Then my eyes closed.

I heard nor saw nothing.

I was gone.

A few seconds later I opened up my eyes to find myself in a strange place.

It was white all around me and there were horses with wings that were pure white.

I looked at myself and I was the same.

I used to be a bay horse but now I was white.

I had become an angel!

I then saw a man come out of nowhere.

It was my jockey.

I will now be able to stay with him forever up in heaven where we can win as many races as we desire.
