Luke's POV

Today is the day.

A few more hours and Delilah will be with me.

Months turned to days and days turned to hours. All the days have been crossed off my calendar. I can't believe it's actually here. Soon I'll be able to see her in real life, not just through a screen. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

"Everything has to be perfect," I tell Calum. He's helping me do some last minute cleaning of my room  so it's not a total disaster when Delilah comes.

Calum picks up a shirt from my bedroom floor and throws it in the hamper. "It'll be fine. She'll still like you regardless."

"I know, I just want everything to be fantastic."

"It will be fantastic!"

"What if she doesn't like me anymore?"

Calum laughs. "She's probably thinking the same thing about you. Plus, she wouldn't fly here if she didn't still have feelings for you. I promise everything will be just how you left off."

I run my hands through my hair and take a deep breath. "I really hope so."

Calum tosses a piece of trash at me. "No negative thoughts! Positive thinking!"

I laugh and continue cleaning.

I didn't think I would get this nervous. It's Delilah. She knows me better than anyone. I shouldn't be so nervous. I think it's a mixture of excitement, nerves, and being impatient. I just want her here already. I don't want to wait any longer. The longer I wait, the more anxious I get. Time is ticking, and she's getting closer every second. Soon the distance will be broken and time will no longer matter because she'll be with me.

A few minutes later, I tuck a pair of shoes into my closet, finishing up cleaning. My room is the cleanest it has been since before I left. I had forgotten what color my carpet even was.

"Are we done?" Calum asks, looking around. "Looks pretty good if you ask me."

"Yeah, this is as good as it's gonna get." I check the time on my phone. It's less than two hours until Delilah's flight lands. I'm about 45 minutes from the airport. "Should we soon?"

Calum shrugs. "Sure. There's usually traffic on the way there."

I stress eat some cereal, even though I'm not hungry. I brush my teeth and check my hair nervously in the mirror.

"Are  you ready now?" I hear Calum call down the hall. He's been sitting on the couch while I get ready to leave.

"Yeah, just a sec."

I let my parents know that we're leaving. I walk around the house one more time to make sure everything is how I want it. Calum and I decorated a little earlier. We put a "Welcome to Australia" sign  (which we had to make because unfortunately that isn't sold anywhere) and some balloons around the house. I want her to feel as comfortable as possible.

I slowly walk out the door, taking one last look around.

"Luke, everything is fine," Calum says, shutting the door.

"Okay, okay. You're right. It's fine. I'm fine. Everything is fine."

Calum laughs and shakes his head. "Are you sure about that?"

I shake my head and shrug. I get into the car and anxiously tap the armrest.

Calum gets into the driver's seat and puts his hand on top of mine to stop the tapping.
