As Gray and Erza were planning their wonderful scheme to get the two young mages to go out with each other, Natsu was planning too. His original plan involved him assaulting Lucy, and pulling her into one of the nearby janitor closets, where they could continue their business privately, but he decided that was too harsh. His new plan involved a stake out near the janitor closets. He wait until she eventually passed the spot where he was waiting, he would then act casual and romantic, eventually leading her into the closet.

As he was planning, he realized a janitor's closet was not sanitary or romantic. He decided to barrow one of Erza's many "interesting" books to help with his scheme. As he read, he noticed many of the scenario's in the book, involved candles. He wanted to use this idea in his plan, but a closet was no place for candles. He eventually decided to move his plan to the hotel's small restaurant. He reserved a table for 5:00 that evening, making sure there were candles on the table.

As he was getting dressed for their candle lit dinner, he heard a small knock on his door. He walked to he door and opened it slightly; Gray was there. "Is that what you're going to wear to your candle lit dinner?! Disgusting!" he said, while pointing at his Polo shirt, and dress shorts.  "How did you figure out about our candle lit dinner?" Natsu asked, confused. "I have my ways..." Gray stated, as he pushed the door open wider. As he walked in, Natsu noticed he had a black suit, pink tie, and dress shoes under his arms. "Wear this." he demanded, as he shoved the clothing into Natsu's arms.

"Since when did you become an expert on clothing? Half the time you're not even wearing clothes!" Natsu fired back. "Shut it! Get dressed! You don't have much time left." Gray replied. He started to walk away, but as he opened the door, Natsu called after him, "Hey! Thanks."

"Shut up! Good luck, Natsu." And with that he left.
