Mckena pov

I was at the Lynch house swimming with them in their pool when I felt someone pull me down. I knew it was one of my best friends, Riker. I really liked him, like liked him, as more than friend. The only person who knew was Rydel or at least I thought only she knew. I jumped out of the water and onto Riker’s back. He wasn’t expecting it and he fell back into the water. After he got back out he started to splash me and I splashed him back. ‘Oh it’s on,’ I heard him say to me over the loud sound of water. We continued splashing each other and I heard Rocky say, ’You guys are so in love.’ ‘What did you say Rocky?’ Riker and I asked at the same time. ‘Nothing,’ he replied. Soon Stormie called Riker and he went inside but we stayed in the pool. ‘So Mckena,’ Ross started to say. ‘Yeah,’ I replied. ‘You like our dear brother don’t you.’ ‘No, why would you think that?’ ‘Come on, it’s so obvious, you guys are always flirting and I see the way you look at each other.’ ‘Yeah, it’s the way Ross and Laura look at each other,’ Ryland said laughing. ‘Well I can’t help it if we’re in love,’ Ross said dreamily as he started to think of Laura. I think he drooled a bit. ‘Aww, my baby bro is in love,’ Rydel said. We tried to snap him out of his thoughts but nothing worked. Riker came back and he was accompanied by Laura. ‘Hey everyone,’ Laura said waving. ‘Hey Laura,’ Ryland, Ratliff, Rocky and Rydel said. ‘Hey Ross,’ she said to Ross who had finally come out of his thoughts. ‘Hey babe,’ he replied. ‘So everyone the food is ready,’ Riker said. We went and dried ourselves and wrapped towels around our bodies. ‘Hey Riker, what did mum want to talk to you about?’ Ryland asked him. ‘Nothing,’ he replied but I knew it was a really important topic for him from the tone he used.

Conversation between Riker and Stormie

Stormie pov

I asked Riker to come. I wanted to ask him about Mckena. I knew he really liked her but didn’t know what to do about it. Riker came in and said, ‘Mum, you called?’ ‘Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about something.’ ‘Okay, what is it?’ ‘When are you going to ask a special someone on a date?’ ‘What are you talking about mum?  There is no one I like,’ he said to me as he blushed a little. ‘Oh really. What about Mckena?’ ‘Mum, I don’t like her like that. We are just friends,’ he continued to say. ‘Riker I know you like her, so just tell her that.’ ‘Do your really think she likes me back?’ ‘I know she likes you as well.’ ‘I’ll tell her later when the time is right. Thanks mum.’ ‘Anytime oh and tell everyone that lunch is ready.’

Riker pov

After I finished talking with my mum, the doorbell rang and I opened the door. It turned out to be Laura. ‘Hey Laura,’ I said to her as I pulled her into a hug. ‘Hey Riker, how are you.’ ‘I’m good thanks. How are you?’ ‘I’m great. So where is everyone?’ ‘In the pool.’ We walked outside and I told everyone that lunch is ready. After we ate we went to watch a movie. We made popcorn and got drinks and chocolate and lollies. After the movie the only people still awake were Mckena and I. ‘Hey Mckena, can I talk to you?’ I asked her. ‘Sure.’ We walked up to my room and I got all my confidence together to help me ask her out on a date. ‘Do you..’ I started to say but didn’t finish what I was saying because I felt her jump on me and hug me really tightly.

Mckena pov

After Riker asked if he could talk to me and we went up to his room, I was hoping he would ask me out. When he said, ‘Do you,’ I didn’t let him finish since I thought he was asking me out. I hugged him really tightly and said, ‘I would love to go on a date with you.’ He replied,’ Oh what, I wasn’t asking you out on a date. I was going to ask you to if you wanted to come with us to our next photo shoot.’ I felt really embarrassed and I let go of him and before I could say something, he said to me, ’I’m kidding, I was going to ask you out on a date.’ ‘Don’t ever do that to me but to answer your question, like I said before I would love to go out on a date with you.’ We hugged again but this time we kissed as well. ‘Well we can go on a date tonight.’ ‘Okay,’ I replied excitedly.

After the date

Mckena pov

‘That was the best date I have ever been on. Thank you Riker.’ I said to him as I hugged him for about the tenth time today. ‘You’re welcome and it’s the best date I have ever been on as well. There is one more thing I have to ask you.’ ‘What is it?’ I asked. ‘Will you be my girlfriend?’ ‘I would love to be your girlfriend Riker.’ He leaned down and kissed me.

‘That is the story of how your father and I got together,’ I said to my 7 year old daughter Abby as I kissed her forehead. After Riker and I had been dating for a couple of years he proposed and we got married. We had 2 kids Abby and her 4 year old brother Alex and another girl on the way. After I made sure Alex was asleep as well, I went back to Riker and I’s room. ‘You are a really good mum.’ ‘Thanks I try and you’re a really good dad.’ ‘I love you Mckena Lynch.’ ‘I love you too Riker Lynch.’ Life was perfect. I had all I needed in life, an amazing family and a loving husband.
