Friday

Empty bottles of water scattered all over the floor, a desk mostly covered by eraser shavings and a college student laying down on the floor protected by a soft blanket. The brunette on the floor was Astrid, she was currently five weeks away from her finals yet her brain couldn't stand to review anything anymore.

Her body might have seem unresponsive in her current position but she was actually awaiting the arrival of her most awaited snack. Astrid is a scholar in her university that's why she was already studying despite there still being a lot of time to relax.

Her fingers were on the carpet, she was stroking them for the sense of touch from her carpet made her feel alive, feeling something reminded her that she still had time to do more in her life. Her eyes watched as the carpet followed the movement of her finger as she stroked it. The direction of the carpet was parallel with her finger.

Astrid was in distracted by her own thoughts towards that carpet that the ringing of her doorbell had surprised her, her ears perked up and she slowly sat up and got up of the floor. She made sure to brush off the dirt on her clothes before she made her way to the door.

Astrid opened the door and was greeted by a young man with his arm covered in colors, her eyes followed the man's tattoo from top to the very end of his arm, his hands which held on to the pizza she ordered. When she had made contact with the box her eyes reluctantly landed at his, she had stared at his tattoo for quite a long time which caused her to be embarrassed.

"How much?" She tried her best not to stutter in between her question, she had forgotten how much she owed the pizza delivery man. "$13.21" he replied  nonchalantly, he probably got tired from delivering a lot of pizza today. "Wait just one minute." I was completely entranced friction made of my fingers towards the carpet that I have forgotten to get money for the pizza.

I had made my way to the coffee table just across the front door and took my wallet from my school bag which was surrounded by notebooks, textbooks and crumpled up paper. "Isn't ********'s finals a few weeks from now?" The delivery boy commented on my living room. As soon as I grabbed the exact change I walked over to him. "That isn't a reason to not study for it though." Passionately caring about her studies, Astrid looked at him in the eye. "Here's the $13.21"

Aleks did not remove his eyes from her stares, he took the money while his eyes was glued to hers. Astrid was certainly one of his weirdest stops of the day. "Thank you for ordering from ******" he said as he handed the box to her. Astrid took the box and waited for him to go.

Astrid would usually close the door as soon as she had gotten what she wanted but this time she was waiting for him to leave first, there was something odd about him that made her stay outside her door. Aleks felt the same, he would usually go back to the motorcycle after the box had left his hands yet he still stayed.

Aleks' phone rang and he knew he had to deliver another box, he took his phone and started walking away, there was certainly no need for goodbyes between him and Astrid. As soon as he turned away from the door, Astrid slither back to her house and Aleks continued to work.
