It was farther then I thought it would be. Pete looked tired so I said " hey Pete you look tired want me to carry you". "I'm a big boy" he said then he leaped into my arms and said "but yes I do".I smiled and rylie seemed concerted and worried I ran up to her with Pete on my side. "Hey" I say " everything ok" rylie just stared at me and almost said something but remembering Pete was with me she didn't.

I smiled and told her to tell me later then she mumbled " if there is a later". I froze Pete was asleep and I had to whisper "what do,you mean"? She ignored me and kept walking I respected that because I really didn't want to know. Pete got lighter once he actually feel asleep. we kept walking and then I feel but not a scratch on Pete. but I made a loud noise when I feel next thing I know we were running.

Pete still asleep on my side and a lot of walkers. They were going for sky and Pete so rylie said "I'll hold them off and away from you". I smiled and said " thanks" and held Pete close to me and Skylar close to me. I was dodging as much as possible and was surprised Pete didn't wake up. I was happy he didn't because I didn't want to deal with terror and crying.

Who am I kidding though I've done that once before right when this started. I was running really fast and I was scared out of my mind especially for sky and Pete. I hurt my leg my mind racing for rylie to hurry up. We got to the doors and I did a hand off handing Pete to Skylar. I told Skylar I worked here and that I knew the pass code.

I really didn't I only said that not to worry her. I pushed in random numbers and nothing happened. I just told Skylar I was fooling around. She stared at me "well stop Pete's about to wake" she said. She was right I pushed in the easiest code and it worked we were in. I was shooting at the walkers in Rylies path.

She ran in and I closed and locked the door with another padlock. I used the same numbers 1,2,3,4,and 5 but backwards this time. we were safe and everything looked untouched in the mall. then Pete woke up and asked "what did I miss" aunt Abby. I looked at him "nothing much" I say to him. He smiles and his eyes still sleepy from his long nap.

I leaned over to rylie and whispered " well there a later tell me".She looked at me and said "well I just thought that all the walkers would get us ". I looked at her and said "you had no faith that's a shocker" I say sarcastically. She smiled and said "what ever" and then Pete said he was hungry. we stopped by a food place then I saw a walker I kept everyone from looking.
