As Sayrel, Chief Esteban and Elder Taranri approached the house, Sayrel was amazed on how the city of Rivas is built. The architecture, the city system, the people. All of these things are what Sayrel really idolized.
“It’s beautiful”, Sayrel said to Elder Taranri.
“Yes, it is.” Elder Taranri replied. “We made it so that monsters below can’t reach us.”
“The people of Feristeline wanted to be here, too.” Chief Esteban answered. “But I chose not to. It will be just crowded here, and besides, we are fine there.”
“Fine, for a while.” Elder Taranri said. “We don’t know how long you will be safe there. So we are working on an expansion here so that you can stay here.”
“Oh, Taranri!” Chief Esteban said. “You are truly my friend. I’ll send you help some time.”
“I’ll gladly wait for that” Elder Taranri said.
After a short while, they approached the house. It resembles Chief Esteban’s house, but a bit more tough and big. It was made of big logs, with a tree serving as its roof. It is spacious inside, with lots of furnishings and a good place to rest to.
They go straight to Elder Taranri’s living room, sat down and relaxed.
“So … “ Sayrel started the conversation. “I just want to ask one thing.”
“Wait.” Elder Taranri stopped Sayrel from talking. “I want to know who you are first, so that I can gain your trust.”
“Well, fine” Sayrel said. “I am Sayrel McDaniel, a professional astronaut from Earth. An astronaut is someone that goes to the space for research and stuff. While I was sent to our satellite Exo-Cosmo 157 for repairs, I encountered a black hole that sucked up my ship. I lost consciousness, and when I wake up, I’m here.”
“I found him just at my backyard, badly wounded” Chief Esteban added.
“I see” Elder Taranri answered. “So you are really not from here …”
“Yes. I am.” Sayrel said. “So I just want to ask you if I can go back to space from here.”
Chief Esteban and Elder Taranri become silent, as they slowy look onto each other, and then looked sadly on Sayrel.
“My lad”, Elder Taranri answered. “I think you should know first about this … world.”
Elder Taranri whispered to Chief Esteban, and quickly he gets some drawings of weird things. Sayrel is puzzled on what will happen next. Elder Taranri started telling a story.
“Once, there was a world rich in everything you could ever imagine. Its name was Gravitonia.”
“Large, vast, and very rich resources, it was the galaxy’s most famous planet. Every planet that knows this has been talking to them for shares of resources.”
“But its prime never lasted long. There came a time that Gravitonia became a barren land, with all of the resources already depleted, and every person died. If not for hunger, maybe because they couldn’t take this life anymore.”
“The king did not like what happened to his planet. In his anger unleashed the evil inside him. So he ordered his soldiers to gather all the strong men and women, and recruited them to the army. He also gathered the most intelligent people to help him with his very evil plan. The rest, are all killed.”
“He ordered his army to create a powerful weapon, something that will make the world move and bring all the other planets to it for the sake of resources. That or they will all be killed. After many days of searching and working for nothing, they found an element so strong and so powerful they quickly brought it to the King.”
“The King is so amazed with the element his army has found, so he ordered to create three spheres containing that element. He named these spheres Gravity Orbs, and kept safely in his mighty castle. He also ordered them to make a system that will make Gravitonia a moving man-made black hole powered by the Gravity Orbs.”
“Every step Gravitonia makes, one planet is sucked up in the man-made black hole his army made, and stuck it up with the world. He almost sucked up a whole planet system composed of 5 worlds. We, Rivas and Feristeline, are once part of this planet system.”
“As Gravitonia grows by gaining parts of once mighty planets in the galaxy, he now called this world Graviton, and he still continues to obtain more and more planets across the universe. He then decided to scatter the Gravity Orbs to different places in Graviton to make it secure from attacks.”
Sayrel is still in shock after hearing the story. He cannot move to his position and still cannot believe about what he heard.
“But you haven’t answered my question, Elder Taranri. How do I get out of this place?” Sayrel asked.
“You cannot get out here, Sayrel.” Elder Taranri answered. “The force of the black hole is so strong. You can go in, but you cannot get out. I’m pretty sure you know the science here.”
“Yeah, I know.” Sayrel said. “Wait. You said it’s man-made, right?”
“Yes, I said it.” Elder Taranri replied.
“And you said it is powered by the three Gravity Orbs?”
“Yes, it is.”
“Then, why not we destroy those Gravity Orbs?”
“It’s too dangerous, Sayrel.” Chief Esteban answered. “These Orbs are guarded by the Gravitonia Army, leaded by the three strongest and the most feared generals of the Army.”
“So what? We cannot fight them?”
“We tried, Sayrel. We already tried.” Elder Taranri answered sadly. “Other parts of Graviton tried to get the Gravity Orbs and, somehow, destroy it. But they didn’t stand a chance. The Army is too strong for them. They just fought to be killed without hitting someone.”
Sayrel stopped again in shock. Out of thoughts on how to get out of Graviton, he breathed deeply and fixed himself.
“I’ll defeat the generals and destroy the Gravity Orbs.” Sayrel proudly said.
“What? What are you thinking, Sayrel? It’s suicide!” Chief Esteban shouted.
“I know, but I’ll take my chances. Maybe I could … train. Train to fight or to hold a weapon. When I learned how to fight, I now have a chance to defeat them. And then, I’ll destroy those Gravity Orbs so that I could get back to orbit again.” Sayrel explained to the two chiefs.
The two chiefs slowly looked at each other, and then looked at Sayrel.
“Listen, Sayrel.” Elder Taranri said. “We tried to fight, but we lose. And now that we lose our hope, you came. You are our only hope to end the rule of the King.”
“We will aid you in your quest, Sayrel.” Chief Esteban said. “We will train you on how to use weapons correctly and wisely, and also how to engage in combat. It might be a little basic, but I know you’re smart enough to handle quick responses during battles.”
“Thank you, Chief Esteban, Elder Taranri.” Sayrel answered. “You should know that I am doing this for my own sake, but maybe in the process, I could also help you guys out.”
“We know”, the two chiefs said simultaneously. “And we believe in you.”
Sayrel smiled as he shake hands with the two chiefs, and go outside the house. He breathes deeply as he feels the fresh air in Graviton, the world inside a black hole.
