Calum looked at me, "who're you?"

Michael whipped his head at him. "Calum that's rude!"

I shook my head. "No no its fine, I'm Abby."

"You're the new hybrid?" Cal asked.

"Yes?" I raised an eyebrow.

"But you look so, normal."

"Uh, yea, i try to."

"Why? Why do you hide?"

"Cal, leave the poor girl alone." Ash said waving his drumsticks around.

"I'm gonna go, thank you Michael, for earlier. It was nice meeting you all." I got up and dumped my tray. I started walking to my next class which was math.

"Hey! Abby!"

I turned around to see Wayde running my way.

"Wayde, hey."

"Hey what's up?"

"Uh nothing, just going to class, and yourself?"

"Oh, um, nothing really. About to go to chemistry."

"Did you need something?" I ask.

"I wanted to see if maybe you wanted to um, hang out? After school?"

"Oh man, um, well I gotta see with my parents but I'll text you later on okay?"

"Yea! Sounds cool!" The bell rang. "Okay I gotta go get to Chem, see ya Abby!"

"Bye Wayde!" I waved him bye.

All the kids started coming out the cafeteria. Mikey and the boys came out. Mikey shot finger guns at me and Luke and Ash waved. Calum broke off their group and came up to me.

"So you and weirdo Wayde huh?"

"He's not weird." I looked at the ground.

"Just wait till you get to know him." He scratched the back of his neck. "Look, im sorry I was a jerk earlier. You seem cool, I shouldn't have been rude."

"Thanks, I gotta go to class. I'll see you later." I hurried down the hall in the opposite direction. After a couple minutes of walking I realized I was lost. I had no idea where in the school I was. I rounded a corner and ran into someone. I started to lose my balance when a hand landed on my back and leveled my balance.

"Whoa, sorry about that."

The voice was definitely male, I found myself having to move my neck to look him in the eye.

"No no its my fault, I'm sorry." I tried laughing to keep from rambling.

"No way it was definitely my fault." he rolled his eyes and grinned.

As we stood there I noticed his hand was still on my back. I realized I was staring at him but I couldn't take my eyes away. His caramel skin was flawless, eyes the color of the ocean, smile the brightest I've ever seen.

"I'm Trey, whats your name?"

"I-I'm Abby." I felt my cheeks heating up to quickly for my comfort.

"Are you new here? I've never seen you around."

"Yea today is my first day actually."

"Oh nice! How do you like it so far?" He smiled.

"It's, okay." I shrug.

The bell rings

"Well, now we're both late. Where are you headed?"

"Uh.." I hand him my schedule "I'm kind of lost in all honesty."

"Let's see, it looks like we're going to the same class! Math with Lewis, come on I'll show you."

I blush and smile, "thank you."

As we walk to class he asks some questions about me, my age, where I'm from, college plans. We get to class and he opens the door for me. All eyes are on me as everyone turns around.

"Hey Lewis!" Trey shouts and waves to the teacher.

"Trey, what a pleasure of you to make an appearance. Ms. Michaels you may take any seat you'd like."

The only options were two empty seats at a table of four. The other two seated were boys who looked very fit and athletic.

"Those are my friends, you can sit with us." Trey whispers in my ear. He nudged me in that direction and we both started walking. Trey pulls my seat out for me and I sit down as he sits beside me.

"Class if you'd take out your books and do problems 1 though 25. No talking."

I put my textbook on the table and start working.

"Psst."

I ignore it.

"Hey, dog."

I slowly lift my head to face the boy sitting across from me.

"So like, do you eat people food? Or do you want the raccoon that's been digging in my trash?" He snickers

"Dude shut up, you look like a fool." Trey says.

"No talking! That's strike two mister Williams!" Shouts the teacher. We all put our heads back down.

"What? You like dogs now too Trey?" The boy says.

"I said shut up!" Trey yells, causing the class to look.

"Trey Williams! Hallway!"

Trey and the teacher make their way into the hallway, after the door shuts I lift my ears to listen a little more clearly but it's still too quiet. Trey and Mr. Lewis comes back into class.

"Thanks." I whisper, Trey pats my leg under the table.
