The Last Hope

Meet

As Mark walking down the street to his favourite cafe, his phone is ringing. He looked at the I.D caller before he rejected the call.

The call is from Mina. Yes, the girls keep calling her even though he already blocked her number. She changed her number and keep calling Mark.

"Goddammit that girl. Doesn't she know how to give up?" he mumbled.

He entered the cafe and the smell of sweet coffee welcomed him. He went to the counter and ordered two vanilla latte. Two?

He is actually waiting for someone. Someone who will turned his whole world again. Someone who will make his smile brightly like before. Not one, but two.

/last night

Mijoo

After soothing Hana, who's crying due to her dream, Mijoo thinking hard. She wanted to call Jisoo and Seulgi but she realises that she couldn't asking for help from Jisoo and Seulgi all the time.

She looked at Hana innocent face. She caressing it while smilling.

"You're indeed Mummy's angel"

She tucked Hana and take her phone and went downstairs. Indeed, she still doubting whether she should gave in or not.

"Oh my god. Why is it so hard to make decision?" She mumbled.

In the end, she pressed his number. Luckily, that guy once called him.

"Hello?"
"Hey"
"Do you...emm.. Do you.."
"Yes, Lee Mijoo"
"Meet me at the usual cafe tomorrow morning. Don't ask why. Just go"
"Huh?"
"Bye"

She ended the called before sighed heavily.

"I hope, I'm making the right decision" she mumbled.

She went upstairs back to her room and drifted to sleep.

"Mummy hope my little angel happy tomorrow. I'll grant your wish, baby"

/morning

"Hana, wake up, darling"

Hana brushes her eyes and yawning. Mijoo looked at her and smiled.

"Get up. We'll be meeting someone today" Mijoo said.
"Who? Is it daddy?" She asked.
"You'll know later. Now, be a good girl, and go to shower"
"Okay, mummy"

Mijoo went to her daughter's wardrobe and grabbed her a dress and jeans jacket and place it on her bed.

Once Hana finished her shower, Mijoo start dolling up her. She put her hair up for ponytail.

"Okay, you're done. Go eat you breakfast and Mummy get ready"
"Okay" she simply answer before went out.

Mijoo went out from Hana's room and went to her room to get ready.

After Hana finished her breakfast, both of them went out from their house. Mijoo drive the car carefully and make it way to the cafe.

"Mummy who we will met today?"
"Someone special for you" she caress her head.
"Tell me please" she pouted

Mijoo shakes her head before turned her focus to the road. Minutes later, they arrived at the cafe. Both of them went out and went to the entrance.

Right before they entered, suddenly Mijoo stop.

"Mummy?"
"Hana, do you remember your promise about your daddy?"
"If I met him, I didn't leave you"

She nodded and hugged her tightly. Her tears are battling to fall down.

"Okay. I'll make you wish come true today. But, remember what you have promised me"
"Daddy? Really, mummy?"

Mijoo nodded and cupped her cheeks.

"Now, you entered this cafe, alone. And, if you saw Uncle Mark, called him daddy, okay?"
"Mummy?"
"I'll coming later. Now, go"

Hana kissed Mijoo's cheeks before entered the cafe. Mijoo just looking at Hana who make her way to the corner of the cafe, which Mark's back facing them.

Mark

Mark kept nervous as time goes by. Its already 15 minutes he's waiting for her yet he can't even sense thats Mijoo will come.

"Daddy?"

Mark was startled when he heard thst voice. He look to his left and Hana was standing beside him.

"Hana-ya. What did you call me just now?"
"Daddy" she replied.
"Why?"
"Mummy say so"

Mark placed Hana to sit beside her.

"Finally, I've got to meet my dad"

Hana suddenly hug her and Mark hugged her back. He was smiling the entire time, knowing his daughter finally knew him.

"Where is Mummy?" Hana shakes her head.
"She asked me to come in first"

As they released their hug, Mijoo suddenly sit in front of them but avoided any eye contact with Mark.

Mark handed her drinks and she just mumbled simple thanks for him. He eyes just looking at Hana who keep hugging Mark's arms.

"So..." Both of them said together.
"You first" Mark said.
"You can see Hana, you can do anything with her as her father, but bring her back to me before night"

Mark simple agrees with her. His mind already full with things he wanted to do with her one and only daughter.

"I want to ask you something" Mark looked at her.
"Sure" she replied, but still avoiding hks gaze.
"Look at me" Mark demanded.

Mijoo shakes her head. Her eyes still gazing at Hana.

"Mijoo, please" he begged.

Mijoo just stayed still. Not even move an inch. Mark moved and put both of his hands to her cheeks and make her facing him. Her eyes went bigger.

"Yaaa, let me go"
"Not until you facing me"
"Fine" she give in.

Before they went into their deep conversation, Mark gave Hana his phone and letting her watched cartoons (p/s : Robocar Poli💕)

"Why you suddenly changed your mind?" He asked.
"You don't want to meet your daughter? Let her know you? Okay, I'll take her back, then"
"No! I want to know the reason"
"None of your business" she huffed.

She hissed him before drank her drink.

"Is it because you already saw that room?" He asked.

Mijoo's eyes went bigger again.

"How...how did you know? You know there is nursery there? Why you never told me?"
"Remember, I following you after you left the cafe. And about the nursery..."

/flashback

Its been weeks since Mijoo left him and his life become almost lifeless. From the day she left, Mark kept sleeping on her bed, hoping there will be scent of her that make all his pain go away.

Mark's dad called him and he wanted him to take care of his office back in LA. Mark agreed as he thought it is nothing if he stays here if Mijoo wasn't by his side.

Mark went to the closet and started packing all his things. As he emptied the closet, he saw the keys hanging beside it. He took it and also realising that there was a room that couldn't be opened before.

"Is this the key?"

Mark slid in the key to the key hole and slowly opened the door. He was surprised that it happened to be a nursery.

"So, this is why they locked this room"

He looked through the room and sighed.

"How I wish she still with me"
