Chat Noir was ready to visit Marinette, but he had to give Plagg some food first. So he de-transformed. Adrien gave a piece of stinky cheese to Plagg. He was kind of excited to see Marinette, her blue-bell eyes and her dark hair, her beautiful smile and her porcelain skin, always soft to the touch.

"Can you eat any faster?" asked Adrien, snapping out of his thoughts. "No, I need to taste it" said Plagg.

"Fine, I'll wait" Adrien said, crossing his arms. "I think you are jelaous of the newbie, right?" asked the kwami, almost finishing his cheese. "Of course not!" said Adrien. "Suuree... I finished!" said Plagg preparing for the transformation.

"Yes! Plagg, CLAWS OUT!" screamed Adrien, and his alter-ego took his place.

He was using his stick to reach the bakery balcony. He arrived and knocked the door, Marinette came out. His eyes widened when he saw her with her hair down.

Universe, please, I've had enough of men today, she thought. "Chat? What are you doing here?" asked Marinette, greeting him in. He looked excited.

"I just wanted to see my Princess, long time no see" said Chat kissing her hand. She didn't pull her hand out. She didn't want him to see her sad, but she couldn't hide it.

"Yeah it's been a while..." said Marinette with a sad face.

"What's wrong Princess?" asked Chat with a worried look. He did know, but couldn't tell her or explain why he knew it, obviously...

"Nothing, I'm tired that's all" she lied, and Chat knew it, but he couldn't tell her that. Chat saw that she wasn't good at hiding something, even if she tried.

"Are you sure? You usually look very happy and enthusiastic, you didn't pull your hand away when I kissed it" he said, trying to make her confess.

"I'm sure" Marinette said and the bad memories came back to her mind. She didn't know that her confession... her... her rejection would hurt that much and she never imagined it as a rejection. She always imagined her happy ending with Adrien. Them having three children; 2 boys and 1 girl, one dog and one hamster. But that wasn't going to happen now.

She started crying.

"Marinette, something IS wrong, please tell me" begged Chat, relieved that Marinette was going to tell him.

"Fine, I'll tell you; I... I confessed to the love of my life... and he told me that he loved someone else..." she said and put her hands on her face, she kept crying. Chat brought her to his chest; he was hugging her. She hugged him back, and sobbed hardly. She kept crying on his shoulder, and he started petting her hair, brushing it and making her feel better.

"I know how that feels..." he said, putting his chin above Marinette's head.

"Sorry about what happened" Marinette said, then both of them heard a beep, coming from Chat's ring. They stopped hugging, and Marinette didn't want him to go. She felt so... safe with Chat.

"You have to go now kitty" she said, pushing him away gently.

"Before I go... I want to invite you to a date, tomorrow at the top of the Eiffel Tower, I'll come and pick you up Princess" said Chat, walking towards her balcony.

"Ok, I'll wait for you, my knight in shining leather" Marinette said, she realized what she said, and blushed. She covered her mouth, and Chat started laughing.

"Princess! Now you are the flirt?" said Chat with a grin. He really liked it when she called him 'her knight in shining leather'. "But hey, don't worry. You can call me like that if you want"

"It... it just came out of my mouth! And will never call you like that ever again, trust me on this one" Marinette said, still blushed.

Chat kissed her hand and went away.

Tikki was about to get out of her hiding spot, when she heard a knocking coming from the balcony.

This Chat Noir... always hiding surprises when... FIREFOX???!!!, screamed internally Marinette when she saw a red-haired man with a fox costume knocking her balcony door.
