PART 1 OF CHAPTER 22 - CHLOE

I'm in the trunk of the truck, sliding all around with Jacob, Matilda and Bond. We're all holding our guns close, all wondering if one of those bombers will come back and kill us. Thankfully we're not driving through the city, otherwise, we would've gotten arrested for riding in the trunk. Matilda is sitting beside me, and Bond and Jake sit across from us.

When I look at Bond, I can only think one thing: how am I Chloe Bond and not Chloe Hunt? Even though I'm shaking by the fear amounting inside of me, I ask him. "Why didn't you tell me I was your daughter sooner?"

"It's in the past isn't it?" He's only saying that because Ella just died.

"You said the past comes back."

He scowled at me in gulped. "Safety. I did it for protection of you."

PART 2 of CHAPTER 22 – BOND

     Eighteen years ago:

"Julia and I met on the night she faked her death. I remember, too. She was on the side of her road after her car broke down on a rainy night. I decided to help her, because I thought that was the right thing to do."

I parked my car behind hers on the side of the road. The rain was pouring the hardest I've ever seen it. Julia had an umbrella under her, panicking that no one would come to her aid.

     "You need some help?"

     "Please?"

"Sure. Come with me. You can trust me after all. I'm not one of the bad guys."

I'll never forget that smirk on her face. She was so beautiful inside and out.

"She stayed with me for a while, because she didn't want Owen Davian chasing her and wanting to kill her again."

"And you fell in love with her?" Chloe takes a guess.

"Yeah. So much so, she was pregnant with you."

I was in my underwear, sitting on the edge of my bed. We were in a different place in England, since I was off from my job.

     "James."

     I turned around. "Yes?"

Julia looked like she just killed someone with her red misty eyes.

     "What's wrong?"

     "I'm pregnant." She sobbed.

She knew there was no way we could protect ourselves, let alone Chloe.

"We were thinking about doing an abortion, but she was too warm-hearted to kill a little baby."

"Yeah, Ethan told me she was the sweetest woman he'd ever met." Chloe replies.

At least he didn't lie about Julia.

"So. What should we call her?" I looked at Julia as I held my little girl for the first time.

Though Julie was tired and almost fell asleep in the hospital bed on multiple occasions, she answered me. "How about Chloe?"

     "Chloe?"

"I adored that name, ever since my mom bought a little cat for me."

I raised my eyebrows. "I'll go with it, only if we give her another name, too."

     "Like what?"

      "Esmerelda – for my mother."

     She nodded. "Chloe Esmerelda Bond."

I smirked. My first daughter – Chloe Esmerelda Bond.

"Chloe, we had to let you go after you were born. Le Chiffre was after Julia and I before I met Vesper. He threatened to kill you. And he almost did."

Le Chiffre was in our hideout. I was tied to a chair, and so was Julia. Guns were pointed against our heads by skinny, muscular men; I felt like my heart was going to explode with it beating so quickly; and Julia was crying once again.

"Don't kill them." He walked over to the crib, looking down at our sweet little Chloe.

I shook my chair, becoming protective of her. "Get away from our baby!"

"She has Julia's eyes, now doesn't she?"

     "Please! Stay away from her!"

He picked her up, holding her little hand. "Let me go by my word, shall I?"

     I shook my head.

"Come here. Both of you." Le Chiffre hooked his index finger.

The two came, leaving Julia and I in our places. I exhaled, quickly slipping the ropes off of me. I grabbed my gun in my side, shooting at the men. Both of them died, and Chloe cried, hearing the noises. Le Chiffre looked terrified. He quickly placed Chloe back in the crib.

"Get out. Don't ever come back."

He was going to reach for one of the guns in the dead men's hands, but I shot him in the arm. Le Chiffre ran away like the coward he always was.

"After that, we were left with no choice but to put you in an orphanage. Because we didn't want you to get killed."

I brought Chloe into a carrier seat late one night, leaving her on the staircase of an orphanage with a letter: HER NAME IS CHLOE HUNT. DAUGHTER OF JULIA MEADE AND ETHAN HUNT

Chloe cried, once I backed away, trying to leave. I turned back around, grabbing her tiny hands. "Shh... I'm sorry." I was crying too. I had to let go of the one I loved too much. "You have to go. You can't stay with me..." I kissed her on the head. "I love you!" I take off running, but she still cried.

Chloe wipes a tear from her eye. "No wonder Ethan didn't want me."

      "I'm so sorry Chloe."

"After eighteen years you finally have the courage to say that?"

"You'll never understand how bad I feel whenever I think about what I did to you!"

"And you'll never understand me, either."

All of sudden, a car drives behind us, coming closer and closer. Chloe gets up, pointing her gun. She shoots for the windshield, but the car already hits the back of us. She falls forward and out of the truck and on the other car.

"CHLOE!" The three of us scream in harmony.
