The pic on the side is of the outfit Carmen is wearing at the end of this chapter. I love her style, what do you guys think?

I'm halfway to my car when I feel somebody grab my arm.

Delaney and Ari.

I look at them and shake my head.

"I'm not relationship material. He's hooked? What the hell does that mean?"

"I told you he's been stopping by a few times a week." Delaney says.

I stare at her.

"You don't think he's like, got a thing for me, do you?"

She sighs.

"He's a good guy, Car." Ari says.

"Are you two trying to set me up?" I ask.

"No, I invited him because he's been worried. Whatever happens from here happens." Del shrugs.

I shake my head.

"No. This won't work."

I turn around, walking to my car.

Snow is falling softly from the sky.

They can find a ride, or walk.

"Carmen!" Delaney shouts after me. I see Tyler, Blake, and Zac leaving now, too. "For once in your life, stop running!"

I unlock my car, frantic, and I get in. I start the car, revving the engine a bit for it to heat up.

I throw it into reverse, and I see Delaney, Ari, Zac, Blake, and Tyler all shaking their head at me frantically as I start to back up.

People stop walking.

Whatever.

Pissed, I buckle my seatbelt, and slam down on the gas.

The car goes flying into reverse.

I hear the sound of crushing metal.

Fuck.

I whip around in my seat.

Some guy in a pickup truck-it's not new, it's probably younger than 2005 but older than 1995. The paint is chipping all over it, and it's clear this guy is, well, broke.

Fuck.

People are stopping, staring.

Shit.

Shit.

Fuck.

Motherfucker!

I put my car in park, getting out, slamming the door with violet force. I move to inspect the back of my car.

The bumper is dragging on the ground.

It's dented in, and the hood is open, and everything in the trunk is getting soaked with snow.

The other guys truck is completely dented in also, the tailgate has fallen off, and it's laying in the street.

The guy gets out too, and he's pissed.

I've never been in a car accident before.

I just sorta stand there, staring at the mess.

Do I call my lawyer?

What the hell do I do?

I'm angry, really angry.

The guy glares at me.
