Okay. So as you can tell by the title, this is a rant. I decided to change things up a bit, since this book isn't supposed to be just one shots, nor is it intended to be. If you disagree with them being able to know each other's identities, then please don't vent here.
So on with the rant!

I've never understood how Adrien and Marinette never figured out that the other was a well known superhero (perhaps they might in Season 2?). Sure, it's a kids TV show, but is it really necessary?
First of all, no matter what, THE WHOLE FANDOM WOULD HAVE FIGURED IT OUT, even if they didn't tell us that Marinette was Ladybug and Adrien was Chat Noir. So why don't they know each other's identities?
Chat Noir looks exactly the same as Adrien. One could only argue that Chat's eyes seem a more intense green. The only one besides Adrien (who doesn't count because he IS Chat) who actually got close to discovering his identity was Alya, but Marinette shot that idea down. But Alya should know that Marinette wouldn't think Adrien would be the flirty Chat Noir no matter what, probably even if he transformed in front of her!! It's their alter ego, so it would make sense!
And Marinette looks exactly like Ladybug. In one of my last chapters (*cough* *cough* READ IT), Marinette was wearing a dress that was slightly Ladybug styled. And as I cringed while writing it, Chat did not notice the resemblance. Why? You may ask. It's your one shot...
I refrained from doing that because I wanted Marinette and Chat to have a relationship without Chat knowing she was Ladybug.
But watching the actual show is a different story...
I get it directors, you want to have them not know that they're together fighting akumas and they also go to school together...BUT DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT SO STINKIN OBVIOUS?!! I dunno, maybe change the hairstyle or hair color at least?! And the biggest mental face palm is every time Ladybug rejects Chat Noir, because she's rejecting ADRIEN, her HUGE crush!!! And Adrien does all this research about who Ladybug is...AND YET HE DOESN'T REALIZE SHE HAS BEEN SITTING BEHIND HIM ALL YEAR!! Sorry...heh...
In all seriousness, Marinette should've been able to figure out Adrien was Chat Noir...she had his entire schedule in her room! And then Adrien rejects Marinette, and Ladybug rejects Chat Noir...I SEE IT IN THE FUTURE!
All in all, they should ultimately know each other's identities...it would make their lives so much easier!!
