Ladrien

Marinette sighed as she opened her window and stared into the night. The moon and the stars shined brightly in the sky. It had been awhile since Chat Noir had come to visit her, and she was feeling quite lonely. Alya was away for some computer technology camp, and that was the only person who she really wanted to be around at the moment. Well, almost. She had also become especially interested in Adrien Agreste as of late.

And maybe it was the sheer boredom that the teen was facing, or the curiousity and was eating away at her, but she decided to go and pay the blonde model a visit. Of course, not as herself. As her more confident alter egoLadybug. She knew that this was probably not the best plan, but she figured that maybe she could get some rest if she knew that he was alright.

"Tikki, spots on!" The girl said in a faint whisper, as to not wake up her parents who were sleeping nearby. She leapt off of her balcony and into the night.

It didn't take her long to locate Adrien's mansion, even in the dark. There was a single light the shone out against the pitch black of the night. Using her yo-yo to propel herself closer, she landed on a ledge just outside of the lighted room.

To her surprise, it was Adrien's room that she had discovered.

Well this isn't going according to plan, she thought. How am I supposed to sleep knowing he's awake? Ugh, I can't believe I'm about to do this...

Ladybug lightly tapped on one of the large windows, which led to Adrien jumping up from his chair.

Oh my god...he was looking at a picture of...me?!?!

"L-Ladybug?!" The boy exclaimed as he saw the superherione at his window. He swiftly shut down his computer, which contained a picture of Ladybug from the Ladyblog, and blushed beet red. "What...what are you doing here?" He scratched the back of his head and opened the window to allow her to enter.

"Oh, uhh...I just came to check on y-you." Ladybug explained, thankful for her mask to hide her blush.

"Oh. Thanks." Adrien flopped on his couch and flipped on the television. He eyed Plagg hiding in behind his foosball table and silently gave him a look that said 'you better find a better place to hide than that'. "Y-you wanna sit?"

Ladybug let go of the breath she had been holding in and regained her composure. She needed to remain calm.

She gave him a skeptical look. "Shouldn't you be asleep? It's three in the morning."

"I could ask you the same thing, Ladybug."

"Touché."

"So, why are you here?" Adrien implored as he flicked through channels rapidly. Seriously, the guy looked like a psycho. It was the only thing preventing him from acting like a complete idiot.

"Didn't I tell you? I-I came to check on you."

"Uhh...okay. Just me? Isn't it your duty to protect all of Paris?" Adrien smirked. He was always so shy around her, but he was finally starting to feel like he could be himself. Her eyes widened a little bit and then a look of panic crossed her face.

"Oh, no, no, no! I just happened to drop by...and...you looked lonely." She tried to come up with any excuse for her surprise visit. Ladybug secretly scolded herself for her lame excuse, and for basically insulting Adrien.

Adrien remained silent. In truth he was often so lonely that that had become usual for him; other than Nino, Mari, and Alya he wasn't sure if he had any really good friends. Of course there was Ladybug, but that was only when he was Chat Noir, and she definitely did not need to know that right now.

"Maybe." The secret superhero admitted. He stared at the floor and bit his bottom lip. He desperately wanted to change the subjectto something, anything. "What about you? I'm sure the mighty superhero Ladybug never feels alone." He was half sarcastic, but he provided a meek laugh to try and lighten the mood anyway.

"You would think." She paused for a minute and gazed out at the Parisian sky. "But, it's actually sort of hard to make friends when people can't even know your real identity. In truth, he only real friend I have as Ladybug is Chat Noir, but he's been distant lately too. He hasn't been there for patrol for the past week." She sighed sadly. "I'm starting to think that maybe he just doesn't want to see me anymore."

Okay, now Adrien definitely felt bad.
It isn't my fault that I have the most strict father in the whole of Paris.

"I'm sure he's just...busy." Adrien weakly offered. At this point, the television had been turned off for some time now. Now he felt really bad. "Hey, I know what will cheer you up. Do you want to watch a movie?"

"Adrien, it's late and I really should get going..."

"No, we are going to watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban!" He interrupted and pulled her back down onto the couch. This was his futile attempt to make amends for Chat's absence, and it was working.

Wait, that's my favorite movie...he doesn't know it's me, does he? Marinette thought.

"Fine." Ladybug grumbled. The pair sat and commented throughout the movie, mostly about how wonderful the Golden Trio was. By the time it was over, Adrien Agreste was fast asleep. He had rested his head on Ladybug's shoulder.

Flustered, Ladybug meekly grinned and tucked Adrien under a blanket on the couch. She leapt onto the windowsill and stared with a sense of finality at the sight before her. And so she swung herself out of the room and back to her home, but not before seeing a glimpse of a black thing flying towards Adrien.

"Adrien! You just watched a movie with Ladybug!" Plagg exclaimed. He saw that Adrien still had his eyes closed. "Ugh, she's gone you idiot. Stop pretending."

Suddenly Adrien's eyes shot open and a wide smile formed on his face.

"I cannot believe that just happened." He climbed into his bed and didn't get a wink of sleep for the rest of the night (there basically was no night left anyway).

Although, Adrien was slightly curious. Why did Marinette act so different around him versus Chat Noir? Whatever it was, Adrien was in far too good of a mood to ponder it at the moment.

Both Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain-Cheng went to school extremely tired the next day.
