(Dedicated to my wonderful editor, Trick90! Cheers!) Enjoy!

I follow the signs that pointed towards the office - unfortunately for me the school architect thought the student carpark should be on the opposite side of the school - eventually I wandered into it by accident. Technically, I could have asked someone, but speaking to people has never really been my forte - and asking for directions kind of involves that.

"Miss Alderbow?" I short, dyed blonde elderly woman appeared before me. "Curious surname, Celtic I believe. Surprised it survived so long. Anyway, I am Ms Leyton, the vice-principal." She looked me up and down. "Please, follow me." The vice principal walked straight into a corridor that lead past the large office-reception desk. "This is the principal's office, he will give you your schedule and class list. Choose wisely as these are the classes you will be stuck with for the rest of the year. Enjoy your time here at Golden-Oak Collage, have a pleasant day." Ms Leyton rattled off and then she turned on her heel and strolled down the hallway. She entered into a room which must be her office. Turning my attention to the door in front of me, I raise my hand to knock but an elderly male voice cuts me off and says;

"No need to knock Violet, come in."

The sign on the door says 'Principal' and I've come in halfway through the first semester, so I guess it would be normal to be the only new student arriving at this time. Opening the door, I notice how the window in across from the door is wide open and the lovely breeze filled the room and a calming light spilled in. Clichéd life quotes were framed all over the walls and the desk was obviously hand-painted yellow; you could tell by the streak marks and where the paint had clumped in places.

"Please, take a seat. I'm your principal Mr Darcies, and I welcome you to Golden-Oak collage and wish you the best during your time here. I am in charge of giving you your subjects for this year. There are limited spots in each specific subjects, and your late arrival time means that you may be put into subjects you do not...would not choose for yourself" Mr Darcies fidgets under ,y gaze. So you mean I'll be put into subjects that are not for me... He recovers quickly stating; "but you should enjoy them never the less. Now, what are your interests? Your only compulsory subject is English - being year 11. There are options, such as three different maths subjects offered this year. Are you interested in pursuing a maths pathway?"

"Oh... umm... I have already passed Unit 1 & 2 Maths Methods at my old school, so I guess the Unit 3 & 4 is my next step there... I guess I kind of enjoy drawing and reading..." I can't say I like talking about myself much to anyone. Also can't say that I've been good at it either...

"Right, there are spaces in Studio Arts 2, Literature, our Year 12 Methods class and I'll have to put you in 'Theatrical Literature' as well - it needs more bodies to fill the class, several students dropped it and it doesn't clash with your other chosen subjects - you should enjoy it. And how about photography? As well as English, that makes 6 classes." After tapping at his computer Mr. Darcies hit print. "Most classes cover two periods but singles will happen a few times a week. For the first two periods today you have Methods, after recess it's Photography and last two is Theatrical Literature." The old printer coughed up my new time table and Mr Darcies took it and then held it out, pointing with his finger. "This column is the classroom name and here is a map. If you get lost, feel free to ask any one of our friendly students. They will happily oblige." Handing over the map and timetable Mr Darcies escorted me out of his office.

Leaving, I headed toward a large two story building and took a look around. So many new people...Too many... I sighed, I wouldn't need them. Never have. It's always just been me, myself and I
