(AN:// These three next chapters are named after the Green Day albums Uno, Dos and Tres. If you didn't know, they represent the three stages of a party; The Lead Up, The Party Itself and The Aftermath. Which pretty much explains these three chapters. Cheers! LeafSong out!)
On Friday night, we all bring our clothes and all the stuff we need to Adrianne's house again. She's our resident make-up guru so she has all the things we need to make ourselves look appealing to the opposite sex. After Adrianne, Ang and Violet get changed, Adrienne looks at the last girl and her eyes bulge.
"OH NO, THERE IS NO WAY I AM LETTING YOU LEAVE MY HOUSE DRESSED LIKE THAT! You look like you're going to work at a timber yard, not a high school party. Come here and let me fix you." Violet was wearing a men's cut T-shirt, a pair of tan cargo pants and work boots. I can understand why Adrianne freaked out. Tonight of all nights we needed to look perfect if we were to convince a guy – any guy at that- to help us go along with our plan. After five minutes, Violet comes out in a purple miniskirt and a black half top. She looks so uncomfortable, but... very nice. I look up and my ears are a little warm, but she looks wonderful; and absolutely party ready.
"Alright, Violet, you can give those back when we come back to mine. And agreed, we aren't leaving separately. We stay together – except for Ro of course... but besides that, we stick like chewing gum on a hair brush." Adrianne giggles at her analogy, and Violet smiles at it, because it's only the first time she's heard it. Ang and I just groan. She really needs to get some new material. She's been using that one for years, it gets old.
"Alright Missy, we have some work to do. You wearing the black lace ones?" Adrianne raises and eyebrow inquiring about my underwear. I nod at her with a wink and strike a stupid pose. "Good. Now, what vibe are you going for? Cause I'd recommend playing up your reputation, 'Sexy-Harlot-From-Golden-Oak-Collage!"
"You read my mind, Adrianne. But, I brought a few options to wear, but I don't know which one is the best." I grab my canvas bag and pull out three dresses. A sparkly strapless silver one, another strapless one, except this one is pink with two black stripes at the waist and lastly, a black dress that is mid-thigh at the front but slopes down to mid-calf at the back.
Ang and Adrianne look at each other and then disappear into Adrianne's closet.
"Dude, the fate of this plan rests on your shoulders. We aren't letting you wear just anything. The three of us saw this in the local Opp Shop and pitched in. It was like $10 so it's really nothing. Try it on – and also, no bike shorts. It ruins the outfit." Ang hands me a plastic bag and ushers me into the bathroom opposite Adrianne's room. After pulling out a tangled wad of fabric, I find the direction that it goes on (after a few failed attempts) and look at myself in the full body mirror. The dress had long sleeves that were sheer and had a black lace pattern on them, with a black bodice to match. Then at the waist, the skirt was made of bright red spandex so it hugged my practically non-existent curves, making my butt look bigger. I walk back in and smirk at everyone. Doing a turn, I tackle all of the other girls into a hug.
"Thank you! This dress is just perfect. And I'm happy to help you do eyeliner. Just... maybe not eyebrows... remember when I did Ang's that one time for Drama class..." I giggle slightly to myself and Ang, her eye's widening at the remembered anger.
"Yeah, and I'm never letting you do them again asshole! They were like that for 3 days!" Violet starts giggling at this outburst.
"Oh I'm sure it couldn't be-" Ang cuts her off by pulling out up a picture on her phone. "Well... I stand corrected. Maybe don't let her do anyone's." Violet giggles at the picture of Ang, who's normal light brown skin had been paled under the stage lights, and had what seemed to be black caterpillars growing out of her forehead. I admit that it wasn't the best job, but... I have improved – kind of... WELL, I TRIED!
"Ang, you do eyeliner worse than a chimpanzee. Would you like me to show around those photos, ort would you like us to hurry up and get the secret ingredient?" I raise an eyebrow at her and smirk at her, knowing that she want so to get back at Damien as much (if not more) than I do.
"Um... Honestly, I'm not entirely comfortable touching something that has been inside... you know where. Um. It's a little... grotesque? Unnecessary?" Violet looks worried, not for the first time about our plan, just this is the first time she's actually stepped up and said that it made her uncomfortable.
"Well, there are ways for me to get one if that makes you uncomfortable. But... those aren't guaranteed. I mean, I can try the other ways, but it would still have to be on the table as a last resort. Cause this boy needs to be stopped. The way I see it, is that if we don't breakeven – he wins. And I am not about to be de-throned by some cocksucking wannabe." I look at Violet with honesty. The only thing this boy understands is revenge. So I gotta bring him down a peg or three.
We all get into Adrianne Dad's car and listen to Green Day's Revolution Radio album, skipping over the first song and the last because they weren't the right tempo to set the mood for the trip to the party. Getting through the songs of the album we wanted, we soon arrived at Cameron's house (he's on the football team and is in year 12) and step out of the car. After Adrianne tells her dad that she'll call him when we were ready to stop "having fun" and that he would come pick us up, he drives off with a final;
"Be safe girls, make good choices!" we have a group huddle to finalize our plan of attack.
"Ang, you're on distractions. Keep Damien away until I have the ingredient. Facebook said he was coming tonight and it will be an issue if he tries to interrupt me." Ang gives me the thumbs up and rubs her hands together menacingly.
"This boy is going to get some tonight... And I don't mean that in a good way." She winks at us and we all give her unanimous eye roll. Same joke she's been making all day.
"Violet, you are on drinks. We aren't getting Cameron drunk, we just have to make him think I am. You need to get a vodka bottle, empty if you can get it, if not empty it yourself, we don't mind how but as a personal thing, don't do it all yourself." Violet looks uneasy. It's understandable but it's the safest job for her because from the looks of her, we're pretty sure this is her first party. I give her a smile and a pat on the back.
"You've got this job because I don't trust these two to put WATER," I side glance Ang and Adrianne who both conspicuously avoid my gaze.
"I know you played the Whoopee Cushion prank on me earlier, but I'm trusting you to not joke around this time. And, this is also the safest job in the plan." I turn to Adrianne. Adrianne knows her part in the plan, and behind mine, she's also getting a backup ingredient that the other two girls don't know about. She volunteered to help because if one of us fails, the other has the back up. And both of us really can't risk failure. Her one is riskier because I have the safety net of calling out to Ang is bad things happen. Sure Adrianne can use the safe word too, but... Ang doesn't know that she's doing this and doesn't want her to know... I don't know why though...
"We all have our jobs, so we better get started or else, we'll run out of time. LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!" We all whoop as Ang calls out and we link arms and enter the fray of a normal high school party.
