(AN//: Sorry I've been away for so long! Hope you all enjoy the last of the Green Day Album Chapter Trilogy - or whatever ya call it!)
Back down stairs, I tried to fix my hair, but it refused to stay in place. It was just coming out everywhere, and was more 'fly always' than actual hairstyle. Finding Violet in the kitchen and Ang still dancing with the same guy, we silently agree to leave her to her fun and go and find Adrianne together. I wasn't entirely sure where Adrianne was – for all we I know she could have left the party. Turning to Violet (it had entirely slipped my mind to ask her if she'd seen anything) I open my mouth, but then shut it again. There seems to be something different about her tonight, I can't put my finger on it, but... I don't know. Maybe it's the fact that she's actually dressing like a girl for once and not wearing her 'hobo' pants. I give her a smirk.
"Hey, have you seen Adrianne recently? I lost her when I went off to find Cameron." Lost in my own world, I realise my voice would be completely drowned out by the music and other loud noises that come along with parties. I motion for her to come with me, and when she looks confused at me, tilting her head to the left, I roll my eyes. She's a smart cookie, but can also be a little thick sometimes. I grab her elbow and drag her out into the garden. Finding a spot near a flower bush, away from the random couple making out across the garden on the opposite side. I glance at them over my shoulder and snicker. That's what inside is for people. Least in there you can say you were drunk and didn't mean for it to happen in the morning when you wake up tangled in her hair. I look at Violet's hair and realise that it's now sticking up just as bad as mine. She meets my gaze and looks timidly back at me as if... I don't even know what. I can see the fear there but... that's not all. Oh well, I'm probably seeing the fear because of the fact we LEFT HER ALONE WITH DRUNKEN HTEENAGE GUYS WHO HAVE A TENDENCY TO GROP UNWILLING AND UNSUSPECTING GIRLS!
"Are you alright? Did anything happen to you?" I take half a step closer to her. I can see her shaking, and shifting her eyes around the garden. Taking off the jacket I 'borrowed' from Cameron because of the weather, I put it around her shoulders. "My dress has long sleeves. You need this more than I do." Violet blushes and puts her goose bump-covered arms inside the sleeves of the jacket. I feel my stomach doing weird twists and turns and my heart racing. This isn't the first time I've felt like this... but it's definitely the strongest. I feel my cheeks matching the redness of Violet's. I lean into her, and brush her hair behind her ear. It was covering nearly of her eyes and her already messy black hair was almost entirely back to the normal mess (Adrianne parted it differently) that is usually is. Her face goes the shade of a beetroot and I smile at her – not my normal half-smile, a full grin.
I'm a good chef, but for the last few nights mum has been determined to cook the two of us. She's trying at least... but this is the third time she's given me food poisoning this year! I really need to teach her how to cook meat properly or confine her to reheating leftovers only. The feeling in my stomach must just be mum's horrific cooking. It must be, there's nothing else it could be.
I see Adrianne stumble across the garden bumping into pot plants and stumbling over her own feet. I rush towards her, hoisting her upright on one side. Sliding one of her hands over my shoulders and hold it down with the hand not around her waist. I see Violet rush up to us, but I laugh.
"Don't worry, this isn't the first-" I'm cut off as Adrianne has falls forward slightly and spews all over both our pairs of shoes. "Well, we better grab Ang and get this one home and on aspirin. But in case she spews, can ya please hold her hair? She'd kill me if she found out I let it dirty." I proceed to carry/drag Adrianne into the house to where Ang was sitting on the couch talking to the guy. I still don't recognise him – which is odd for me – but I can't really think about that right now. Ang jumps up, startling her drink and tipping it all over the floor.
"Damien's looking for you. He's off his face drunk and wants to talk about how you slept with Cameron and not-" Ang's explanation was cut short by a smash and a scream. Damien was standing at the bottom of the stairs with an empty bottle.
"ROSALINE! A wittle birdie towd me that YOU were sweeping around again!" I see Damien stumble off the last step but catch himself before he fell on someone or broke the bottle in his hand. "I thought you were done being a little WHORE!" Damien continues yelling over the sounds of the party. Suddenly Cameron comes in from the garden. I didn't see him out there when I was talking to Violet.
"Oh Damien, will you shut up! You're drunk and have been crying over that girl since you broke up with her. Or was it the other way around?" Damien rushes at Cameron, but because he was so intoxicated, he merely stumbled forwards and rammed his head into the other boy's stomach. Cameron, winded, stumbles back into the couch. Adrianne grabs my upper arm. I was completely frozen watching the boys' now full on brawl. I knew that they were competitive on the sports field, captains of opposite teams (Damien played footy and Basketball, whereas Cameron was Soccer and Cricket) and always trying to out-do each other in every way possible, also why I chose to get the ingredient from Cameron. But, I was hoping that they wouldn't come into contact with the other person but... too late. Ang and Adrianne took one arm each and making sure Violet was out the door already, we left the party.
"Adrianne, you have the thing, right?" I was slightly nervous, if we lost the ingredient, it would be hell to get another. She holds up a brown wine bag, shaking it slightly.
"Well duh! Of course, I did! Oh, and by the way, my brother's 'round the corner to come get us. Let's get a move on!" We all linked arms, except Violet whose arm was dragged by Ang – and then was just held because Violet looked at the dark-skinned girl like she just proposed we start a bungee-jumping club without any equipment.
Step 1, complete!
