Chapter 32 - Wonderland


I threw my arrow at Leiriope's direction but she made some sort of magic shield making the arrow come to Helen's direction

Fortunately, Helen ducked before the arrow could hit her

I flied to where Leriope was standing and charged but Leriope disappeared and reappeared 20 feet away

"I think this is an easy arena...let's try something more...challenging" Leiriope smiled, she snapped her fingers (seriously, does she have to snap her fingers for everything?)

we were no longer at an arena, we where at some sort of labyrinth

"Helen?!" I screamed, but I didn't hear a reply

I flied to see the labyrinth from up, but I couldn't fly higher than the walls...it must be some sort of spell

well, I guess I'll have to do it the old way...walking, oh joy (note the sarcasm)

after a few rights and lefts I found a door, which I considered not opening but I finally did

the room inside was the size of a janitors closet, but It just had a tiny clock inside

my curiosity got the best of me and I entered the room to grab the clock...my first big mistake

The door closed and I was trapped inside the dark creepy little room

I grabbed the clock and pressed the little button on the side, the clock hands began to glow and change positions, making me able to see more clearly, the arrow was pointing to my left, so I turned and found a door that was possibly the size for a dog to come through, I bent down, I could see a shadow pass in front of me...creepy

I stretched my hand trough the door to see if i could find a door handle, button or something

...searching...searching, aaahh BINGO! I pulled a handle and the bigger door opened reveling a dusty hall...great, just what I needed, more dust.

I came out of the room to proceed my walking

I heard a noise so I pressed myself to the wall, second mistake, the wall was like absorbing me or something I had to break free, I struggled trying to get out but it was hopeless

I summoned a little spark from my hand and the wall hardened, my right hand was free, I did the same with the other and I was finally out of that stupid wall, I was starting to feel like I was in wonderland, but without Alice, and Leiriope was certainly the queen of hearts, I shook my head, Focus Maye!

I heard another sound, I decided to follow it carefully, I finally found my pray...a moving bush

I carefully moved the bushes to be able to see what was inside, but what I saw was very different from what I was expecting....

A dog, a white terrier to be exact...looks like i just found the white rabbit

As I said I wasn't expecting that at all, but here I am following the white dog...or rabbit? whatever

the dog finally came to a stop, where Helen was about to touch the wall
"STOP!" I yelled, she turned with her sword ready

"oh, it's you" she lowered her sword "and you brought a dog"

"yup" I said casually

"where in Hades did you found that dog?" She asked

"umm...somewhere back there?" I said pointing, but it sounded more like a question

"you do realize that can be a trap from Leiriope?"

"yeah but don't you think he's cute?" I said cooing the dog "who's cute? who's cute oh yes you are!" I scratched his tummy and he barked happily "Actually he--" she cut me before I could finish my sentence

"yeah he's cute...wait, how do you know it's a boy?" she made a face "oh never mind" she rolled her eyes "you were saying?" se made a gesture for me to continue

"He guided me towards you, without him I wouldn't have found you" I said "and you would probably be inside that wall"

"he's a smart dog indeed...but let's get back to the fight before--" she wasn't able to finish her sentence when a plant started grabbing her by the neck, forbidding her to breath, I did the first thing that came to my mind: ducked

Perfect timing since a plant was trying to do the same that it did to Helen with me

I grabbed the dog, took Helen's sword from her hand, and ran...

Just kidding, I cut the plants of Helen's neck, she was starting to look purple, she gasped for air "What was that?"

"I don't know, some magical plant trying to strangle us?" I said confused

"That means Leiriope must be close" she said as matter-of-faclty

"Or maybe she put traps all around the labyrinth" I said

"I think Helen's Right" A voice said behind us, the dog barked and we turned our heads towards the voice
