Newscasters slowly returned from hiding and began to broadcast once again. Things from "Have our once good heroes turned sour?" to "What made them target Merit Labs?" circled throughout the circle of broadcasters. People at home turned on the news and flocked to social media to see their beloved heroes being caught in the act of doing the unimaginable. They had betrayed the people who believed in them by doing what they had once fought against. Piper and Anarchy stood, watching the smoke plume into the sky above what's left of the building. Sirens wailed as they raced to the scene. The loss sits heavy in the duo's chests.

Piper frowns and turns to Anarchy, " What do we do now...?"

Anarchy just sighs as she stares at the smoke. After a few moments, she turns to him with a cold look plastered to her face, "We will find out who framed us and show him not to mess with us." She then turns towards the city and marches towards it.

As the new day's sun breaks over the horizon, the city is still buzzing from yesterday's incident. A siren echoes from a jewellery store across the waking city. Soon enough, the duo arrives at the scene like they usually do. This time was different thought. The police had beaten them there and someone dressed up in costume was already walking out with what is presumably the store robber. The stranger in costume wore a dark lava patterned suit with a hearty pair of gauntlets colored in values of dark reds to black, then a pair of boots that matched. In the center of his chest sat a black sun icon. The  masked man stood proudly as he threw the robber to the police, then handed a necklace with a huge stone in it back to the store owner. A  random officer turns and sees the super duo watching, "Look who tried showing up, it's the backstabbing duo!"

The man in costume frowns as he spots Anarchy and Piper, " I'll handle this..." He walks through the crowd of officers and approaches the two. "You must be Anarchy and the Caped Piper..."

Anarchy nods. Piper just keeps staring at him.

He laughs, "Jeez, you guys must have some guts coming here after the stunt you pulled yesterday. You're lucky nobody opened fire on you yet."

Anarchy folds her arms, "We didn't do anything yesterday other than get framed! Some lousy lowlife decided-" Piper grabs her arm, she sighs. "Sorry... I'm just mad. I'm sure if someone ruined your reputation you'd be upset too..."

Piper nodded and kept staring, "I... I don't think I've seen you here in Savannah before? And I try to make sure I know all the people trying to become heroes."

He smiles, "Well I hope you haven't seen me before. I'm new to all this hero business. I thought with you two... um... With you two being bad, or whatever, that I'd be the new hero in town for a little... but I guess not." He chuckled nervously.

Piper frowned and glanced at Anarchy, she returned his look. "So what do you call yourself?"

He pulled up his gauntlets and smiled, "Obsidian Sol, or just Sol. Whichever is easier."

Anarchy looked him up and down, "I like the costume."

He smiled, "thanks!" His smile fades into a frown, " You guys should probably lay low until you can prove to the people that you were framed... You guys seem pretty okay and I'd hate to see you guys get hurt if you didn't actually rob the Merit Labs yesterday."

Piper nods, "I agree. I just don't know how we could prove our innocence!"

"We could check out the labs and see if any security footage survived? If that doesn't work, maybe we could find some other evidence there?" Anarchy says as she glances at the officers.

Piper smiles, "Yeah! That's exactly what we have to do!"

Sol folds his arms and nods, " That sounds like a pretty great plan actually. Till you guys can show you're innocent I'll keep the town safe, I guess?"

Piper smiles, "Sounds like a plan. Thanks Sol for actually taking the time to hear us out. It seems like most others are keen on getting to fire at someone."

Sol snickers, "yeah yeah, you guys go save that reputation of yours."
