Chapter 1

Mackenzie's POV

"Girls! Get your skinny butts in here!" Abby yells.

We run in the studio, giggling.

"What is so funny?"

"Everything."

"What were you girls really laughing at?" The producer says.

"We were laughing at Ms Abby's hair because it was sticking up all over her head." I say into the camera.

"You're all crazy. Brynn, how's your mother?"

"She's good. She told me to tell everyone that its a boy." We all get excited because there's not a lot of boys in the Dance Moms family.

"Tell Ashlee I said congratulations and I better be invited to the baby shower."

"Ok." Brynn says, laughing.

"Alright, pyramid. On the bottom, we have Chloe, Paige, and Kalani. In the middle, JoJo, Nia, and Kendall. On the top, Maddie and Mackenzie. Congrats on your show. I've heard its been going well."

"This week, we are heading to Expressions Dance Competitions right here in Los Angeles."

"Yay!" JoJo says.

We laugh because she's the only one who said it.

"Anyway, we have a group, a trio, 2 duets, and a solo. Everyone's in exactly 2 dances. The trio goes to Maddie, Kendall, and Chloe. The 2 duets are Mackenzie and Brynn and Nia and Kalani. The solo goes to Paige."

"Girls, spread out. Moms you're dismissed." The moms leave and we spread out to stretch.

3 Hours Later

"I think that's enough torture for today. You're dismissed." Ms Abby says.

"How was class today girls?" Mom says.

"As you probably heard, Ms Abby tortured us today. We barely came out here for water and we barely had any breaks. But other than that, it was pretty fun." Brynn replies.

"That's good. You don't always get breaks." Jill says, moving Kendall's hair behind her ear.

"How about we go get a team lunch?" Holly says.

"We would love to but we have to pick the twins up from school and take them to gymnastics. Maybe you can come over to swim when you're done?"

"That sounds fun. Ms Abby, will you take us?" Brynn says excitedly.

"Sure. Chloe and Paige, do you wanna go?" They both nod.

"Of course. I wouldn't miss being with my best friend." Chloe says causing Maddie to smile.

"Mom, don't we have something to do today? Kendall sighs.

"Yeah, actually, Kendall has a photo shoot at 3 pm. We won't be able to make it to the pool, but we can go to lunch. Sorry girls." Jill smiles sympathetically while Kendall grabs her bag.

"Nia has a recording session at 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Sorry we won't be able to make it. Have fun." Holly says.

"JoJo has a fashion show to go to. Maybe next time." Jessalyn says.

"Where's lunch?" Kira asks.

"Good question. Lets just drive around until we find somewhere to eat."

"Mom, can we go swimming?" Kalani says.

"Sure. We have nothing else to do but I'm hungry. What time, Melissa?"

"2:30 pm. We should be back by then."

"The twins are lucky they have half-day kindergarten. I had to go for a full day." Brynn says.

"I'm sorry you couldn't come, KK. Maybe another time?" Maddie says, putting her arm around Kendall's shoulder.

"Yeah, sure."

"Come on, Kendall K." Jill says.

"See you tomorrow." Everyone says.

"Girls who are going swimming, go ahead to lunch. We'll see you at 2:30 pm." Mom says as we walk out the door.

"Mom, do you think the girls were acting weird in there?" Maddie says as we get in the car.

"No. If they have stuff to do, we can't stop them just to have fun."

"You're right. Never mind." She looks out the window as mom drives us to the twins' school.

"What did you think about the girls behavior at the studio?" The producer says.

"I knew they might have been a little upset that they didn't get their own reality TV show." I look in the camera then at the producer.

"OK. Thank you." They turn off the camera and I get off the stool.

"Mommy! Guess what we did today." Hannah says, almost dragging Sophie to the car.

"Hannah, be careful." I open the door and grab Sophie before she falls on the curb.

"Sorry, Soph." Hannah climbs in the car and I put Sophie in.

"Is it time for gymnastics?" Sophie says.

"Yeah. Just have to go home and get dressed."

"Yay!"
