Mackenzie's POV
"Girls, are you ready to go?" Mom yells up the stairs.
"Yeah! Hold on." Maddie says back.
I grab my clutch and walk downstairs.
"Paparazzi will be heavy at the church. Keep your head down and don't answer any questions." I nod and pick up Sophie.
"Let's go." Mom says.
She grabs her jacket from the coat rack by the door and we walk to the car where Greg is waiting.
We ride in silence to the church and get out if the car. I pick up Sophie again and she buries her head in my neck as we walk along the path. Screaming paparazzi follow us with cameras flashing, asking a million questions each.
Do they respect anyone? It's a funeral for God's sake.
"Girls, girls. In here. Hurry!" Abby says, holding the door for us.
We walk inside and she closes it, leaving the security guards to deal with the paps.
"Come on. Everyone's sitting down." We walk inside the sanctuary and take our seats in the oew for the 'Dance Mom's Cast'.
"Kenzie, come over here." Brynn whispers.
I walk over to her at the other end and sit down.
"Hey Soph." She says, pinching her cheek.
"Hi." She giggles.
"Girls, quiet down. It's starting." Abby whispers.
The family walks in and goes to the front row.
"We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Todrick Hall." The priest says.
"He was a man beloved by all, funny and bright."
1 1/2 Hours Later
I wipe the tears from Sophie's face, then mine.
She lays her head on my shoulder and I smooth her hair back.
"The family may now exit." The priest says.
They get up from the front row and walk out of the sanctuary, everyone following them. When we finally get out of the santuary, we talk to people until it's time to leave.
"Thank you, girls, for coming. Todrick would've appreciated it." His mom says.
"It was our pleasure. Your son was a wonderful man." Abby says.
"Thank you." She smiles then walks away.
"Practice tomorrow at 9 am. See you then, girls." She walks out followed by Gia, Chloe, and Paige.
Kendall and her mom leave, then Nia and her mom, JoJo and her mom, Brynn's family, then our family.
