After school, Stiles drives Liam and I home.
I know Stiles knows that something has been happening to me, but instead of asking if something is wrong, he's simply studying my every move.
But I feel better now, just tired, but no longer in pain.
I'm genuinely smiling now and Stiles can tell.
We pull up to the house, Dad's car is in the driveway. Stiles says he'll meet up with us later, he's going over to Malia's for a little while.
Liam and I get out of the car and make our way towards the door.
I turn to wave goodbye to Stiles as he drives off.
"Dad, I'm home!" I yell out as we walk in the house, but there's no reply.
"Dad?" I call out again.
I walk over to the kitchen where I find a note.
Went to the doctors for a check-up. Melissa came to pick me up,
she'll drop me off. No need to worry. See you kiddos soon.
-Dad
"My dads at the doctors." I tell Liam.
"Is he ok?"
"Yeah, He said it's just a check-up."
I hold up the note for him to see.
We walk up the stairs to my room where we set our backpacks down on the floor.
He sits on my bed and I stand by my desk, shuffling through some papers.
I turn to look at Liam. He's serious. Quiet. Somethings on his mind.
I turn my attention back to the papers, not sure if I should ask whats wrong.
"Why wouldn't you tell me?" he asks. "Why wouldn't you tell me what was wrong?"
I turn to him. "I- I don't know. I just didn't want to worry you or anyone else." I say.
He keeps his eyes on the floor.
"Is it because you don't trust me?" He asks, finally looking up at me.
"No, Liam of course I trust you. I just didn't want to make a big deal out of it."
"I knew something was wrong. And you wouldn't tell me no matter how many times I asked. I just want to help. If something happens to you and I didn't do anything about it, I would never forgive myself." he says.
I walk over to him.
"That's not gonna happen. I'm fine. It's over." I tell him.
"I don't want to lose you. I'm afraid of losing you." he says.
"Hey, Liam," I say gently, "is this because of what happened to Stiles?" I ask.
He nods.
"Well, you won't lose me. You never will."
He pulls me towards him.
I'm sitting on his lap, facing him. My knees at his side.
He tucks my hair behind my ear and gently kisses my lips.
He looks into my eyes, his blue eyes staring right into mine.
"I love you." he says.
"I know." I say with a small smile. "I love you too."
