Party Harder

Chapter 3:Recording Label

We drove for an hour before finally finding the where we were supposed to be. I get out of the car with Remsen and Ariana who decided to tag along.

We walk up the stairs to the building and walk inside. We are greeted by a huge room filled with people in suits on phones rushing to get to the right place at the right time. Ariana calls Mia to see where we're supposed to be at and after a couple of rings Mia picks up. Ariana nods and walks to an elevator with Me and Remsen following close behind. She presses the button to go to the fifth floor and the elevator goes up until it reaches the third floor and opens. A group of very important looking people walk in, all talking on the phone to a client I'm guessing. We make it to the fifth floor and walk out of the crowded elevator and over to Mia.

We walk into a room that has a recording booth and three people sitting in chairs. "Everyone, this is Alice. She's an amazing singer and I think having her with our record label would benefit us greatly." Mia says sounding confident, they all nod.

I look over to Remsen nervously but she gives me a reassuring look and a thumbs up. "Alright, so what do I do?" I ask and all three of them shake their heads and write something down. Great, I'm already failing and I haven't even sung anything yet. "You just have to sing exactly what you sung at the party, just, no band." Mia explains and I nod "Start whenever." Mia says. I start singing and again all three of them start writing something down. I look over to Remsen and she's dancing like a weirdo. I hold myself back from laughing and look away. I notice Mia moved from beside me over to the three people sitting in chairs and is whispering something. Mia signals me to stop singing and I do as told. Mia looks at the three of them and they all nod "Come on, I'll tell you outside." Mia says and sounding gloomy and we walk outside the door.

Mia shuts it after she walks out and looks at the ground before sighing "Alice ... I'm sorry but .... YOU MADE IT!! WE'RE SIGNING YOU!!" Mia cheers and I squeal and hug her "Did the whole sounding sad thing work? It was so hard to do!!" She says hugging back and laughing "OH IT WORKED!" I yell back and we pull away from the hug. Mia and I give each other a serious look, we stop jumping and squealing then turn to the door and walk in.

I walk over and shake hands with all three of them, holding back the urge to hug them, but not hiding my huge smile. "Thank you so much for signing me." I say and they nod "Thank you for letting us sign you." One of the men says, he has a deep, soothing voice that I could listen to all day. I walk back over to Mia "Now onto business." Mia says looking at me "We have a long To-Do-List." She says in a serious and I nod with a sigh. Here we go.

2. Write an Album

3. Get a Fan-base

4. Have a Concert

5. Have a Meet-N-Greet

6. Get Publicity

7. Get every Social Media

8. Make an Album

9. Open for Someone on Tour

I nod as Mia finishes listing off nine of the things I have to do. "We'll get to the rest later, first things first, you need to write a song. If you need you can have a group of writers help you, but we'd like you to try to write without any help first." Mia explains and I nod "Got it." I respond with a nod "Follow me." Mia says walking out of the room and down the hall. I look back to Remsen and Ariana who are whispering back and forth about something. I can't help but wonder what.

We walk into a relaxing looking room. It has one of those mini-waterfalls and a recliner with a small table beside it. Woah. "Okay, so this is where you will be writing. If you have a problem there is a button beside the recliner. So if you need food, drink, anything really just press that button." Mia explains as I sit in the recliner. Mia makes Remsen and Ariana leave the room so I can focus on writing and hands me a book full of blank pages and a pen.
