Ezra lays in bed, staring at the ceiling. A faint knock echoes as he starts to drift off. The knock becomes forceful as time progresses. Ezra opens the door to once again reveal Aria. She holds up his jacket and her lips curved into a snarl.
"Um hey Aria" Ezra says, motioning his hands in the direction of the apartment.
"No I'm good right here" She states, staying put.
"Oh ok" Ezra says quietly
"Can you explain this?" Aria says, taking a small white piece of paper out of the pocket of his jacket.
Ezra takes the paper from Aria's hand and scans it.
"You did it, you killed her" Aria says, louder than Ezra would have liked.
"Aria, shh" Ezra said, holding a finger to his lips.
"I can explain"
"Ezra I'll do whatever it takes to help you, I just need to know the truth" Aria whimpers
She finally enters the apartment and takes a seat at the table. Her nose was twitching and her foot was tapping the ground hard under the table.
"Why?" Aria asks him
"For you" Ezra replies
Those two words hit Aria's heart like a freight train.
"For me?" Aria asks "I don't need protection Ezra, I'm an adult"
"Aria I don't care if you want protection. I need to protect you, protect the one I've always loved" Ezra said
Aria starts to tear up, something obviously bothering her. She mumbles a goodbye and leaves the apartment with the slam of the door.
