CHAPTER 1
"This has got to be the coldest January we've ever had," Hannah grumbled, jumping down from the school bus, pulling her jacket tighter.She waited for her younger sister. "Hurry up, Meg. What is taking you so long. I'm half froze."
"Well, be patient, everybody has to get down" replied Meg in an injured tone. "Whatever. ..!" exclaimed Hannah rudely.
"You two think you can make it home okay? It's really slippery" asked Charlie.
"Yeah! No problem. " Hannah's lips curled into a smile. She started to walk without looking back at the grumpy face of Charlie's. "Hey. wait up!" cried Charlie waving his right hand in the air. 'Do you know there's a good chance you might not have school tomorrow.'
"Is that so? Well that will be fantastic.!" Meg clapped her hands in delight.
"Yeah I just heard the weather report, they said that there will be a snowstorm all this week."
"What...?" Hannah faked surprised. 'Mom and Dad won't ve able to get home then... Man..That realky sucks you know it really does." She held Meg's hand frantically. 'We have to go Charlie.Thanks for your company dude.!"
"My pleasure" he answered back promptly. He pulled back into his seat and pulled the door shut behind him.The engine roared to life and the bus went fown disappearing in a thick layer of snow.
Meg was four years younger than Hannah. Hannah was tall and athletic; Meg was short and petite. Hannah's hair was thick and wavy with fabulous face; whereas Meg's hair were short and coal black with tiny face and green emerald eyes so big and around that she always looked so startled.
"Let's go, Meg. It's getting darker." mumbled Hannah anxiously and thinking about her Parent's arrival.Her parents had gone to Chicago to attend a marriage. Hannah and Meg stayed home because thay had to attend their classes.
"Hannah! Mom and Dad won't be coming if there will be a heavy snowstorm, will they?" questioned Meg anxiously.
"Don't ask me! How should I know?," Hannah said irritably."Anyway, you worry too much."
"Unlike you, I care for Mom and Dad. I love them." Meg said coldly.
Hannah was scanning the white shapes covered by the snow.They reach their home in no time. Their house was hundred years old and was miles away from their nearest neighbour. People rarely passed that dessert area. Hannah had convinced her parents to change this house because one night when she was in her bed reading an article, she heard voices....voices like someone in great pain. Once Hannah found a cloth which was drenched with blood. Hannah was so horrified after this types of incidents. Once she really was gonna die when she saw a man in her garden pulling a long sack from a bush....
