She got out of her room and demanded,"Get Bruce to bark!" "What?" asked Meg.
"You heard me! MAKE HIM BARK!" Hannah demanded and was really terrified. Reality was beyond imagination. Everything seemed fake for a moment.
Hannah clapped her hands at Bruce. Bruce was a stupid dog. He didn't know how to defend.
"Is anybody home? We need help" the voice hissed from outside.
The girls froze. Hannah felt Meg's fingers digging into her arms.
"Can anyone hear me?" the voice yelled again.
Again that news flashed in Hannah's memory. she wanted to call the police but then she remembered that the phones are dead.
"Please!" the voice begged, 'We need help out here. Please, help us'
"What if someone is dying out there" questioned Meg quizzically.
"Why us?" questioned Hannah.
"Because there is nobody near and nobody lives over here. People rarely visit this place," insisted Meg.
Without taking any permission from Hannah, she flung open the door. Two strangers were standing on the doorway, wounded, bleeding and nearly half-frozen. Hannah and Meg gasped at the same time, changing glances.
A man spoke in a british accent. "Actually, i know you would be
wondering about us but we want to excuse you for this harrasment as
our car's not working because of this thunderstrom. Would you mind to
help us young ladies?" He made a puppy face.
Ladies? Hannah laughed at this word. She stood quite for a moment. He
continued," Acn we please stay here? Besides, there is no hotel around
this queer place so if you lend us your room for a day?" Hannah looked
at Meg, Meg looked at her too. They didn't knwe what to say. Hannah
broke silence which was hanging for two minuntes. "Sorry to say-"
Meg interrupted her," Oh yea, you must stay as we have plenty of rooms
and i know you would be feeling really very cold and both of you are
bleeding too"
Is Meg out of her mind? Why is she being a bitch?
Thankyou, I'm Jack." the man introduced himself.
"Well, I'm Meg and She is my sister Hannah." She said, pointing at her sister.
Hannah gave her an angry glance.
"You must leave our home early in the morning!" Hannah told the strangers.
Hannah ordered Meg to follow her to the kitchen. Meg excused the
strangers and followed her.
"Are you out of your freaking mind? Do you know what are you saying to
them? To stay with us? Come on, Meg! We are alone with a stupid dog
and witha dead phone!" Hannah urged.
"I'm- I'm sorry, Hannah i thought i was being generous to them.
Everything will be fine, Hannah. They won't hurt us as they will leave
in the morning." She said politely, comforting Hannah.
Hannah said Meg to bring blankets for two of them. She went to the
lounge and said to Jack, " You can take your brother or whoever he is,
to that room and i've put some clothes on the bed to wear. You can
change your clothes and comfort yourself."
He thanked him and moved to the room told by Meg.
