Still laughing, I asked him, "What makes you think I would want you to be my best friend?"
"Well, who wouldn't want to be friends with someone like me." He did a dramatic gesture over his body.
Playfully turning around, I told him, "Hmm. I don't like cocky people."
Riley
Hearing her name, even in my thoughts, made a scowl come to my face and Jack noticed.
His eyebrows furrowed and he asked me what was wrong.
Time to tell him another personal thing about me. Sigh
"It's just this girl Riley," I pointed to her so Jack could see, "She hates me and tries to make my life a living hell. I say tries because it doesn't ever work but it's the thought that counts right? And that bothers me."
"Maybe you should try talking to her and asking her why she hates you so much." He suggested.
He's so sweet for trying to help me.
"That's a bad idea. The last time I talked to her she told me that my ex had bet on me but I thought she was trying to make my life worse. After that she called me names and walked off with her posse of wannabe barbies."
"Well, it seems like you hate her too."
"How could I not? She's a bitch. A rich, pretty bitch that gets things that are supposed to be mine.." I mumbled the last part.
"Hey... don't beat yourself up over some fake whatever she is. Just remember that the money isn't even hers, it's her parent's and she can get cut off any time." He told me with a triumphant smile.
Was that supposed to make me feel better?
It honestly didn't but I went along with it because atleast he was trying to make me feel better.
"Anyways, being rich isn't all that great ."
When I looked at him he was leaning in his chair and acted like he hadn't just said what he did. Curiosity took over.
"What do you mean? Are you saying you're rich?"
"I mean, yeah. It's really no big deal. It's not that great. I never see my parents because they have to work all the time to keep getting the money they're earning. I don't have any siblings and since I just moved here, I don't have any friends. Except for you if you wanna be friends." He honestly looked so sad as he was talking and I wanted to do something for him but I didn't know what.
"Aw, I'm sorry to hear about your parents. My parents are kind of like that too, they work all day and when they get home I only have a couple of hours to spend with them and I'm still thinking about your offer to be friends." I smiled.
The ringing of the bell indicated the end of class.
Wow, time flies.
"It was lovely meeting you Ms. Margaret but I guess I have to go now."
He said."You too! Do you need any help finding your classes? I would be more than happy to skip class helping you find yours."
Please say yes. Please say yes.
"No, I have a map. See you later!"
Bye.
-
It's the end of the day now and I'm so happy the day is over. I really don't like some of the people at this school.
As I'm packing up my backpack Jack comes up to me.
"Hey! I was wondering, since I have no other friends and nothing to do, if you would want to come over and hang out or something? And I promise I'm not a fuckboy and I won't try anything because I just want to get to know you."
He finished his rant with a grin that is hard to say no to.Since I walk home and my parents don't get home until 6 ish, I accepted his offer.
"But you have to drive me," I told him. "Because I normally walk home and I obviously don't have a car here at school."
"No problem."
The walk to his car was short and sweet. He had a silver dodge charger that looked cool as fuck.
"Wow... This is the coolest car." I said rubbing the hood.
I've always wanted a car like this. Maybe I should steal it. Hahahah
He smirked at me. "If you agree to be my friend," he started to get in the car, "I might let you drive this baby around. For free."
No way
"I decided I was gonna be your friend a while ago but now it's a definite yes. Just know I'm being friends with you for your personality, not your money."
He started driving to what I'm assuming is his house.
-
After a few minutes we pull up to a house and to say I'm shocked is an understatement. A big understatement. There was a circle driveway with gorgeous plants on the perimeter. I got out of the car and noticed pebbles beneath my feet.
There is a long pond surrounded by treese leading up to the front door. I stared at my reflection for a minute, gave it a wink, and slashed at it with my fingers.
I heard a chuckle beside me and I knew he saw.
Ooh, I love a freshly cut yard.
"We have to go around to the side door because I don't have a key yet." Jack told me.
"Fine with me." I said in total awe.
He led me to a greenshouse looking bulding but I soon realized it actually was like a greenhouse and a boardwalk/ garden type place. There were flowers, all different types and colors. Vines and plants flowed on the roof of it and there were benches every few steps.
"Dude...," I started. "This is fucking awesome." He looked surprised at my sudden outburst but replied with,
"I thought you would say that. But wait...theres more."More?
