Victor Hugo created Eponine as someone who is bitch and cruel to Cosette.
In the books she was raised to be their Antagonist and forever have an Unrequited love to Marius. She was the symbol of a desperate girl who doesn't know how to give up.
Everytime I read this story I can't help but to be pity of Eponine who lost herself just because she found Marius. She would do anything for the man she loves.
