Unexpected Guest Part Two

"Well," Mary's tone changed, "I have come to make a proposition with you. You see, I am in a bit of trouble." She took a sip of her tea. "Our old friend we called 'The Painter' is back, and he has found where I live. Now I don't have anyone important in my life, except you two, and he doesn't know about you, so would you mind if one of you stay with me? For safety, that is." Gary looked wary. He then sat in a chair across from Mary. "We can't leave each other's side, so the answer is a no." Gary replied. Mary scowled for a second, but then smiled brightly. "That's okay! You both can just live with me! It'll be a lot happier at my place with you two around." I frowned. She didn't seem right today; she was more open than usual. "Mary, I do believe that we have another visitor." She looked pale and confused; I broke her. Gary looked at me with a smirk and stood next to me. "And that visitor is 'The Painter'." Gary finished. Mary laughed evilly and black smoke appeared from her sleeves and collar. Then once it cleared we were shown a sight of the one we once knew as "The Painter". Gary pulled me up stairs and we got our roses pinned to our shirts. We ran back down and faced the imposter. "I prefer to be called 'Hide', now." He smirked. I froze at the name. I couldn't bear to hear the name of my late brother. "Hide" saw me and came right up eye-to-eye with me, "What? Can little Ib not handle the pain of her little brother's name? Hmm?" he mocked me. Gary pulled him back and pushed "Hide" against the wall, "How DARE you mock my friend!!" I stood there, still in shock, watching the fight. I got some courage back and sucker punched "Hide" right to the kitchen. He was so in shock that Gary and I had the time to merge. We held hands and brought ourselves together as a bright blue and red light swirled around us. We felt our hearts lighten and warm up as our powers binded together and strengthen. We were about to destroy the house. We both knew it.
