"What a lovely name!" Jack exclaimed "Thanks" I replied, letting go of his hand. It was soft and warm. His fingers were thin, but not bony. "Hello?" Jack said, waving his hand in my face. I snapped back to reality. "Oh sorry" "Its fine! Hey, do you wanna go to a café?" "Uh, sure. I'm not doing anything, plus I was wondering around; that's how I bumped into you." "Oh, okay, great!" He grabs my hand and runs me over to a café nearby. Rose Bud Café, pretty! I thought to myself as we walked in. I sat down at a booth away from everyone else while he got us some more coffee, bagels, and cinnamon rolls. "Here ya go!" Jack said as he sat down, handing me a cup of coffee and a bagel. "So," he started, "tell me a bit about yourself." "Well, um," I responded, "my life is nothing I really wanna talk about. Sorry." "No worries!" I smiled; no one was really that nice to me besides Gary and Sara. "Well, would you like to hear about me?" Jack asked. "Sure." I said in a dead tone. He frowned for a second then began telling his story. "So, I was born with a huge birthmark on the right side of my face." he gestured toward his eye where his eyepatch covered. "The doctors couldn't get rid of it without taking out a chunk of my brain so they just left it there. I didn't mind it. I was able to where a cool eyepatch with it!" He smiled as he popped a part of his bagel into his mouth. "Anyway, I was made fun of for a bit before I got the eyepatch, so I just used my hair to cover it up and it's become a habit, so I still do it." He wiped off a bit of crumbs off his tan shirt and black suspenders. "So, when I got to highschool I became a nobody; as if I was one before." He sighed as I shifted in my seat and leaned on the table. He smirked at a thought of his own. "Well, I had one friend, but she never talked to me much. Her name was Aya. She always wore a big pink bow and she had the straightest of hair! She had pretty brown hair that went to her butt. Aya had a thing for chainsaws and she wore a blue dress with a white apron. She was nice, until collage. But this story isn't about her!" He nervously laughed and scratched the back of his head. "So, I kinda grew up by myself and played video games on the weekends and went to work during the rest of the week." I smiled. He must have noticed me because then he said, "Hey! Watcha smilin' about?" "Oh, nothing!" I take a bite of my bagel. "So." "So?" "Ya gonna tell me about yourself?" He urged. "No." I said with a dead tone, again. "Okay, okay. Calm down buddy. It's just a question." He said with his hands up to his chest in surrender. "Anyway," he stated as he got back into another comfortable position, "wanna be friends?" "Sure!" I was really happy to have a new friend. I don't get many of those. He smiled at me. God! His smile is so cute! Wait! What am I saying? This guy probably has a girlfriend! But I don't hope so. I couldn't stop think ing about him when I got home.
