Laura slouches down into her chair, admiring the blonde beauty sat across the cafeteria. His blonde hair is covered with a cap placed on backwards, giving a perfect view of his perfect facial features; the beautiful hazel eyes, charming smile and those adorable dimples.

Why is he so cute?

She carries on staring, forgetting the fact that she is being accompanied to lunch until said company (rudely) interrupts her, as Laura describes as, very important Ross time.

"Quit staring. You look like a creep."
Maia nudges Laura, snagging one of her fries. Laura doesn't bat an eye. She was used to Maia stealing her food since they were four and besides she could never finish off her food anyway.

"Maia! I was having a fun time." Laura complains, eyeing her best friend.

"Well, you were too busy staring at Lynch over there and completely blocked out my very interesting story!"

"But he's so cute." Laura coos, staring at him again. This time Ross is smiling animatedly as he talks to one of his friends.

"You're hopeless." Maia laughs, stealing another one of her fries.

"Just hopelessly in love." Laura sighs, dreamily.

"Why don't you guys just date? It's so obvious you both like each other." Maia states, finally munching on her own food.

"It's not that obvious." Laura mutters, squealing when Ross looks over and sends her one of his dashing smiles and -

Oh my gosh, did he just wink at me?

"Are you joking? You both flirt all the time and he yes he just winked at you. You practically act like a couple already!" Maia cries, frustrated at the two teens.

"Whatever." Laura mumbles, stuffing some fries into her mouth.

Laura stares at him for a few more seconds, contemplating Maia's statement. Yes, she was right. They'd always hold hands and cuddle and Laura was fully aware that just friends don't do that but she was afraid that maybe Ross was a touchy person in general and she was reading the signs all wrong.

She faces Maia. She stares at Laura, shaking her head before carrying on with her homework she forgot to do until the due date. Laura scoffs.

Typical Maia.

"Do you think he'll ask me to the dance?"

"Yes and maybe you'll get a kiss as well." She teases.

"Maia! I'm pretty sure we won't kiss. Well, I hope we do. I wonder how good of a kisser he is." Laura wonders, beginning to daydream.

"Speaking of the Lynch, he's coming this way." Maia says, looking behind her.

Laura begins to panic. She quickly grabs her mirror, making sure she didn't have any food on her or if she looked decent enough. Maia just laughs at her making a big fuss.

"Oh, just stop laughing and tell me if I look okay." Laura whines.

"You look beautiful."  A deep voice replies instead and it's definitely not Maia's

Laura jerks her head to the left to see Ross smiling softly at her. She feels her cheeks heat up and he just chuckles at her.

"Quit laughing, Ross. It's not even funny." She stutters out.

"But you're so adorable when you blush." He comments, laughing.

"Stop doing that!"

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry." Ross chuckles, taking a seat beside her and putting his arm around her shoulders.

"So, how is my beautiful lady?"

Laura splutters and she knows for sure her cheeks are ten shades redder. Way too red to blame on another overuse of blusher.

"Gross, you guys are absolutely disgusting." Maia groans, shoving her plate away. Laura kicks her leg. She could be so dramatic at times.

"So someone, with brown hair, she's very close friends with you and you're always complaining about how she never keeps her side of the room tidy-

Maia gasps, hitting Laura in the arm. Laura yelps but she quickly gives her attention back to Ross because one, hello, he looks especially good today and two, Ross says Maia told him something which means Laura is going to be embarrassed one way or another.

"As I was saying, she was saying how there's someone who'd really love to go to the dance with me."

This time Laura makes sure to kick Maia harder.

"Ow. That one actually hurt." Maia cries, rubbing her leg.

"It was supposed to." Laura hisses.

"Laura!"

"Oh, yeah. Carry on, Ross."

"Go to the dance with me."

Laura thinks that it was very her thing to decide to take a drink just at that time as she splutters the water in front of her.

"Laura, you heathen." Maia cackles.

"Laura?"

"Sure, Ross." Laura squeaks out.

"Great! Also, I'm gonna take you on a date on Friday." Ross grins.

Laura just curses as she chokes on her soggy fries.

"That means yes, Ross." Maia explains, laughing loudly.

Laura wishes she could put her in a chokehold if she wasn't choking herself.

"See you, Friday?"

"Sure."

Ross kisses her cheek before sprinting off.

Laura gapes, "Did that just...?"

"Yep."

(Ross did in fact ask her to officially be his girlfriend at the dance. And Maia still continues to steal her fries.)
