we were in school.
"Lexi I have to tell you something" Brendon said.
I slammed my locker door shut and smirked. we were happy. 3 months went by. we were safe. "yes?" I said.
"look" he said, pulling me into an empty hallway. he was taking his jacket off. "jeez bren you're gonna have to buy me dinner first" I laughed. he looked at me "seriously?". I smiled and nodded.he took something off. it was some kind of necklace. he handed me the necklace and jacket. the jackets pockets were filled with letters. letters he wrote to me but didn't want to send. letters from every grade. 1st...2nd...3rd..... it was crazy. there were other things like a few pictures of me and him, me him and Pete, him and Pete, me and josh, and josh, Tyler, Pete Brendon and I. there was even a letter from Pete in there. the jacket smelt like him and still does. I held the jacket close to me and examined the necklace. "Brendon why are you giving me all this?" I said.
"well you know the....devil" he said, tears forming in his eyes.
"i guess..." I said
"I made a deal with him. me and Pete. to keep you safe." he said.
tears automatically formed in my eyes.
he placed a hand on my cheek.
"Why" I said, crying harder "why!"
"to keep you safe dollface" he said
that's when he kissed me. kissed me so hard and passionately and beautifully. it was like a movie scene. although those are perfect. something we were far from.
"I love you" I said
"I love you too"
that's when the trees outside when up in flames. a sign.
I cried harder. he hugged me tight. "it's okay. I'm going to visit you. when you're sleeping. and you look so beautiful." he said, crying a bit.
"bye" I said.
"bye dollface" he said, kissing me one more time, running his hands through my hair.
and like that the boy I loved went into a bunch of trees engulfed in flames.
