"Honestly, I have a life, I don't have time for this!"
"I'm sorry, but this was personally requested. I'm only doing my duty."
An annoyed sigh escapes her lips as she takes a seat. She hears her parents' voices muffle out as he closes the door and watches him as he steps to his chair and take a seat himself.
"What is so important?"
He pulls out an envelope and slides it across the table, his eyes fixed on hers.
"This is."
Her eyes slowly trail from his face down to the brown envelope. She carefully opens it and pulls out a letter.
Typical of her. She thinks to herself.
She reads through it carefully and soon...
"Are you okay?" He asks.
No response.
A tear or two flows down her cheek. She swallows the rest away, still powering through the letter.
Silence reigns as she reads.
Sadness follows. Its a battle to keep it out, but the fight is futile.
The letter ends.
"She...."
"Look out over there"
"She didn't make it...?"
"I'm not trying to make you scared..."
"She passed away hours after she requested for this."
"Why.....is this so....--"
"Important?"
"Yes?"
"It's Heartbreak Horizon..."
"Because those were her last words to enter into this world. Her final thoughts she wanted to share."
"I guess the world will never get to see your golden heart..."
"And each and every word....was about you. She thought about you."
Silence reigned once more.
Sadness follows.
"For a person to leave such a mark on someone's life....to be the subject of their last words?
That is love."
She stood up, took the letter and walked out.
------
These words written serve as the last that'll ever come from me forever.
Its of utmost importance that it finds you and you only.
And let it be known that I will remember you and the impact you had on me as I head to heaven, or hell or in between, whichever side will take me.
Your love and friendship stays with me.
I love you endlessly.
I'll miss you like hell.
Yours truly,
Elsa
