We slipped silently onto the ranch, to my house and up the steps like shining bands of moonlight. Matt slid off my back as we reached the porch.

"That was amazing. Wow! I couldn't see the ground, it was like we were flying. Like riding a furry dragon!"

He dropped to his knees so he could wrap his arms around my neck again and bury his face in my fur. His laughter was muffled by the thick strands.

"You're way nicer than a horse. I could ride you all day!" He hummed and nuzzled into my neck. "Or I could ride you all night. Mmm!"

Matt sprung to his feet and opened my door. I followed him inside, wondering if I could stay in my wolf shape all night and not have to say anything about the sudden revelation burning a hole in my head and heart.

But then we were inside and he was rustling through the cupboards, munching on a snack for himself and putting a saucer of milk down for me like I was a sickly kitten. Sweet: Matt through-and-through.

"Come on," he said. "Let's get warm. It's cold when I'm not cuddling you!"

Matt rushed into the bedroom and emerged with armfuls of blankets. I waited in the doorway. I couldn't figure out where he was going with half my bed in his arms.

Instead of walking past me, Matt stopped.

I realized what he was planning a moment before he could drop the blankets on my head. I kicked off from the door and raced away, trailed by a laughing Matt with a load of blankets in his arms.

He chased me around the house until I ducked behind the couch and tripped him up as he rounded it. He fell onto the couch, laughing, spilling his armfuls of blankets. I bounded up on top of him, pinning him to the soft couch cushions. He squirmed, thrashing and knocking a cushion to the floor.

I struggled to keep my balance on Matt as he bucked around and the blankets slipped from under my feet. He was laughing so hard he hiccuped and coughed. "You're too heavy! That's too much blanket!"

Caught up in the joy and excitement of the moment, I forgot that I'd been hoping to stay wolf around him. I shifted into my werewolf form so I could say, "Warm enough now?"

"Too warm!" He giggled.

"Be careful what you wish for, then. This is what you said you wanted!"

The last of the blankets slipped onto the floor so there was only Matt's clothing separating me from his wriggling body.

He hummed and arched his back to wrap his legs around my waist. "This is what I want."

I took advantage of my human mouth to kiss him. His face was still cold and flushed from the ride in the wind, but when I licked inside his mouth he was completely hot, sweet and wet and inviting.

"I missed this," I muttered, realizing how true it was as soon as the words were out. The month without seeing Matt had been even harder than the months when he was on tour, because now I knew what it was like to kiss him. I knew what my feelings for him were and—even better—I knew he felt the same way.

"You're all naked under your fur," he rasped. "Aren't you?"

I nodded my head frantically. Matt was trailing his hands over my hips and ribs, his fingers spread wide as he gripped my skin and ruffled my fur. He'd been petting me all evening but now he was clasping me, grasping furiously at my body through my fur.

I moaned, and buried my face in Matt's neck to hide the desperate weakness in my voice. All the strength of my emotion was willing up in my throat and struggling to burst out.
