I've always been a mystery to most.

My name is Calum Hood.

I like keeping to myself. I don't want to be an open book. I am the quiet, mysterious guy no one knows about. The one that they wonder about, but can never figure out. I don't want to give myself away like I used to do. It never worked out. And I'm popular in my school, all because of the perfect disguise I put on everyday. I laugh, I smile, I play sports, and that's my disguise. It's different at home, where I stay locked up in my dark room, alone, thinking. I play prince Charming on the outside, when I'm dying within. I am that guy who's always reading a book every chance he gets, but will never be read like one, because I just don't have the words yet. But until I do, I'll keep to myself... because what if I'm not accepted for who I am? I would have placed myself out there for no reason at all. Why let that happen? Why speak? It never mattered when I did speak. No one cared enough to hear. So one day, when I do speak, it will finally matter. It will mean much more. Until then, I will hide my voice, and they'll just have to wait to hear it. For if I do decide to speak, I would break the silence that I have held for 7 years now.
