I go to my room in the attic. Mary sleeps in the spare room. She keeps it quite nice in here. I think its about time I open what is in this bag. Hmm interesting I suppose. I see five books in here. Gone With the Wind, Catcher and the Rye, The Bible, Robinson Crusoe, and a blank journal. I also see a few pens in here along with a water holder.
How can someone survive on reading alone? I write a first journal entry in the blank book.
1943 April 12
In the course of my own circumstances I know the most fundamental way in surviving: Allies. Having people on our side. However, my own country is not so lucky with our own allies.
But, now is the time to rise up in our own stance with good allies and ask for many more. The next way of surviving is most definitely resources. Having good resources makes us smarter in a way that can fool many. Looking at your surroundings, having good instinct, and asking questions. Such as...... Which is the way to your nearest supermarket? Where is a good safe haven? Many like these are superb tips in surviving.
The future is uncertain though.

James would be very proud of this journal entry. Straight and to the point. I was very tired so I went on that squeaky mattress and went to sleep.
When I woke up. Mary shook me up and said, "Julia! wake up I hear them." "Hear who?"
"The people, so we have to go to somewhere safer. They are looking for us." , she whispers.
We went to the far ends of the apple orchard down the road. The lady is covering for us. She told us to come back around thirty minutes later. We were walking down in the orchard while I was reading out loud. I was reading Gone with the Wind. Boy I know now what jealousy can do to someone. I need to write that down.
While I scribble a note down, Mary takes a bite out of and apple. "What are you thinking about?" she asked me. "I'm thinking about my brother, and how he is out there somewhere fighting for us. " That's a deep thought Julia."
We hear something in the distance, and ran to it. Its about twenty minutes later, but I don't like the sound of it. When we got to the house again, Mary got in first, and she shrieked. "What happened?" I walked in to see Mrs. Heatley's dead body in the chair near the stove. I jumped back then got to it closely. There was a note attached to it.
To whom it may concern,
We are in search of Ms Mary Rainier and Ms Julia Gray.
We have heard from sources that they were living under this roof. If you have seen these young ladies, please contact Officer Gustavo Ravonn branch of the Western Stronghold. This lady Mrs. Heatley did not tell us where they are so she had the consequences. Think about that.

I am scared now. What do I do now where do we go? I immediately go to the pantry and the cabinets to get some food in my knapsack. As much as possible. I tell Mary, "We have to go." "But why," "It's not safe here."
We run out the door, out the door and to the train station. My books are now a part of me like I have never thought it would.
Being on high alert isn't the best feeling in the world. I've been on it for three days now.
We decided to go to London or at least have a journey. When I got into the track I decided to travel to Cologne, Germany. I guess I'm officially an outlaw.
