Chapter 5: Shop Until You Drop

Here's the next chapter, summer's almost over so that means it's time for "Back To School" things!

It had been 3 weeks since Jinx arrived at Kate's house. According to all the Stewarts Jinx had grown a lot in her magic skills, as she was able to handle herself in combat, cast spells and enchantments with the desired effects, and her stamina had increased. In Jinx's opinion, she wasn't at Kate's level, but good enough to not need much help. Kate's parents helped Jinx learn about the magical side of the world, covering politics, education, social structure, travel, creatures, and occupations. Bella had also shared some stories, pictures and videos of her time with Jules and Robert. Summer was almost over, in a matter of 4 days Jinx and Kate would head back to Charms High and Kate's siblings would also have school.

"I think it's time we get some school supplies" Bella stated. They were all, currently having breakfast.

"Won't it be sent to you?" Jinx questioned. Last year, she'd gotton her books by post and thought this was the standard school system.

"No, Jinx we need to go buy them ourselves. You got them last year because you lived with mortals and it's not like Paper Chase have a sale on finder folders" Kate joked.

"I still live with mortals Kate. So I'm guessing they've been posted" jinxed added, "what the hell is a finder folder? it aounds like a stationary trackibg device."

"It's a folder where you put your work in and wave your wand, saying the folder name to get it in your hands. It saves you from turning the place upside down, to find the bloody thing. I think they ought to invent a finder for everything, it'd help you not mess up the room trying to find some socks" kate remarked. Although she and Jinx were good friends, they were on opposite ends when it came to clothes organisation. Kate liked everything to be neat, so she kmew where everything was. Jinx on the other hand, liked to keep things tidy, but it was so difficult to find anything because it became one repetative mess.

Jinx was about to say Kate had more experience with magic so could easy stay tidy. Oh and that, she'd like to see how long Kate lasted, doing it the mortal way. When Kate's father spoke. "Watch the language Kate. Not everyone's a neat freak like you and your mother"

"Excuse me! The reason why I'm a quote unquote neat freak is because someone leaves there clothes on the bed all the time. Put some in the laundry basket when you take them off" Bella faught back.

"Mum! please let what happens in the bedroom stay in the bedroom" Kate cringed, it was embarrasing to have your close friend hear what your parents got up to alone.

"Kate. Get your mind out of
the gutter." Bella warned.

"Mummy what was Kate talking about?" Ameilia both asked.

Johnathan grinned, "well she was talking about grown up stuff"

"But Kate's not a grown up yet" Anna commented.

"Yeah, but she knows what grown ups like to do in their room sometimes when the kids are asleep" Ruban added.

"What do grown ups do at night?" Both girls asked each of their older brothers respectively.

Johnathan and Ruban shared a mischievous look before starting, "well..."

"Boys. I suggest you think very carefully about what your answer." Kate's father, who Jinx had been asked to call Anthony threatened.

"Oh come on dad! We weren't going to say anything that'd scar them"one twin spoke.

"Yeah. All we were about to say is, to ask Kate. The other added.
