I remember right before it happened.
It was early in the morning, Sam was about to leave for class when I had gotten up to see him.
Before he had left, I walked over to him, stumbling over my own feet trying to get to him. I snaked my arms around his torso, and lifted my head to kiss his cheek. I let my lips linger against his skin momentarily before I closed my eyes and sighed tiredly. I tried to swallow a yawn while I laid my head on his shoulder, but failed to do so.
He turned his head slightly, looking down at me. A cheeky smile spread across his face as he cocked a brow.
"You're up early."
"Is it a crime to want to see my boyfriend?" I asked.
"No, its just I'm usually the early riser"
"Well todays important" I explained.
He shrugged me off of him and turned to look at me, furrowing his brows as he asked, "how so?"
"It just is" I answered vaguely, not wanting to spoil the surprise.
"Well, then have fun with your important day, I'll see you later. Love you"
A warm smile spread across my face as I nodded. After returning the smile, he opened the door and turned to leave.
I'm not sure what came over me, but right as he began to walk away, I grabbed his wrist.
It was as if part of me didn't want him to leave.
His eyes met mine once again as he waited for me to say something, but I said nothing. I should have said something. I should have told him I loved him, but I didnt. I should have kissed him, but I didn't.
I didnt think that would have been the last time I'd see him smile or the last time Id see his eyes sparkle.
Not knowing the point of what I did,  I let his hand go and leaned against the doorframe, watching him go.
Little did I know, that smile he shot me before he got behind the wheel was the last one I'd ever see.

I apologize for the choppy chapter and the horrible excuse of an age 18 chapter, I've been out of the writing game for a while and am not totally back on my feet yet... But I'm finally on summer break so expect more updates!

This books almost over so I'll be working on bets soon!
