There are moments in life where I feel as if tragedy follows me wherever I go. Right now....had to have been the worst one yet. Sebastian was asking Violet all these questions and the words were still being processed in my head.
Thalia in a crash. Thalia and Sebastian's mother in a crash.
Thalia in a crash.
It was all going through one ear and out the other and managing to come back and leave a permanent voice in my head. No mother ever wants to hear those words come out of someones mouth.
I saw Sebastian push past his pregnant sister in rage as he ran downstairs and started shouting orders. He slammed the front door and that's what snapped me out of my own little world. I rushed passed Violet and little Addy without trying to tear up and shout in anger at the thought of my daughter being hurt, or even worse.
I opened the front door, dropped to my knees on the cement. I cursed at myself for the problems that I've now brought upon this pack. I knew the consequences of leaving, but never would I have thought so much tragedy could occur in this short amount of time. I would never wish for any of this to happen upon these beautiful creatures. Especially Sebastian.
A man who is willing to protect me and my daughter through everything. He didn't deserve this, and neither do his people.
"Isabella!" I looked up and saw Sebastian with a worried expression.
"Where is she?" I say wiping the tears off my face. He try's to take a hold of my arm and I move out of his reach and stand up by myself.
"Hey, she's okay. She's gonna be okay. She's safe. They're back at the city hospital. We gotta go now." There was a slight hint of relief on my chest. But it wouldn't be complete until I saw her, that I knew I would be okay.
"Lets go."
....
The collision demolished the car. It was such a hard hit that there was no use in bothering to fix it. The person in the other car was rushed and we had yet to gather any information on him.
Thalia was safe. They were both safe. Bruises appeared over their skin as soon as we were ushered to their rooms. Thalia was sound asleep as Sebastian's mom stood clutched by her side, never leaving her alone.
It had been three days since the accident and within the three days I didn't leave Thalia's bedside. I was stuck at her hip as she rested through the nights. She stirred constantly in her sleep as I I looked down at her. Snoring in her sleep. Thalia's eyelashes were as black as ink, resting above her big plump cheeks. She looked so tiny in the big bead as I watched her and placed a kiss on her forehead.
I kept the door ajar as I shuffled out. My feet patted against the wood floors as I made my way to Sebastian's office. I moved slowly debating if what I was doing was right. The night of the accident we both stayed in the hospital room. No words were spoken between us as we eventually came home only for him to lock himself away in his office.
It was an apprehensive feeling. One that I never wanted feel as the nights seemed to grow longer without him.
I was standing in front of the office door. Completely still and quiet, waiting for the right moment to open the door.
What I didn't expect was to slam open the door and see a bunch of pairs of eyes staring right back at me. My cheeks flushed a deep red as I saw Sebastian look up at me. His pine green eyes vibrant like the first day. Jaw clenched as his hands tightened around the map positioned in his hands. Warriors and trackers bowed their heads in respect. I, out of courtesy bowed mine and let them know there was no need for any of that.
