"Hey Conrad, I'm so sorry for the hold up it won't happen again I promise you." I say as Conrad waves it away.
"It's fine Bella, we just opened don't be in such a hurry. Relax." Conrad laughs with a mischievous smile playing on his lips. The nice man heads outside as I sat my bags in the back office.
Two days before I came into work I had practiced, I got a hang of it for a few minutes but I brought Thalia along with me, I didn't get too far. Today I would do the basics experiencing this independence was new to me. Relieving, in a way that made me realize that I was so much more.
I dove into work. The family business consisted of rocks for homes. We organized them by name and color. It was simple and easy. I was in the back room organizing some files for different types of granite stones when I heard the bell in the front chime above the door.
The aura of a male engulfed the entire store. I could hear his boots against the floor as he made his way across to the cashier desk. It wasn't a familiar scent but my back stiffened at his musky aroma. It was everywhere. I inhaled so deep that the smell of pines settled in the air around me. Sweat and dirt was mixed in there. It was an erotic smell for a female , one of my kind. I had scents hit me full force but never like this. A feeling gathered in the pit of my belly as I stood there gripping the files to my chest that the sides folded.
"Conrad!" The voice was deep. Power was held in his throat. His masculinity ran through me as I he called out for anyone in the store. The bell on the counter of the front office is rung aloud more than once and the sound began to irritate my sensitive ears.
"Hello! Anyone here!?"
"I'm coming!" I yell this time with an annoyed exasperated breath. Realizing that I had to confront the male in the front. I open the door throwing the file on the chair by the door. I head through the hallway that leads to the front counter. The pine smell was closer and closer. More potent than the last. I continued my steps as it finally hits my senses at fullforce. I could feel his dominating presence suffocating the room.
The word mate leaves his mouth the second his green eyes meet my brown ones.
We stand there looking at each other for what seems like forever until I hear the bell chime from above the door. "Hey Seba-...oh." Conrad feels the tension in the air because his body structure goes rigid for a few seconds and he immediately composes himself.
"Bella... " at the sound of my nickname that Conrad stuck with since Laura first introduced me to him, my gaze drifts away from the tall muscular green eyed man.
"Yeah Conrad.?" I ask
"Nothing..nothing Bella...have you finished the files I gave you to organize..?"Conrad asks all the while giving the man a skeptical yet funny look.
"What do we have here!"He came up behind the man and greeted the handsome man with a genuine smile.
We both snapped out of it. Our faces going back to tense yet strained smile. "Nice to see you Conrad."
"You as well Son! How's your family doing out there?"
"Getting bigger! Violet is about to have her second baby." The man spoke deep. Authority was clear on his tongue yet he was polite about his conversation with the human.
"Well congrats to all of you, tell your mom I said hi! Me and Laura will have to heard up there soo like the old times. Anyways Sebastian I'd like to introduce you to Isabella Martin." My gasp stuck in my throat as the green eyed man finally made contact with my eyes again. I had never felt a pull so voltaic. It was new yet, enthralling feeling.
