With the collapsing sun, Erstera releases a harsh sigh. Her neck tilted backwards, allowing her face to bask in the suns fleeting light. The hues in the sky slowly blending with the incoming night time hues.
Stretching her arms out in front of her, they crack in multiple places. Behind them, a vast forest with animals so calm that nothing can scare them. The birds, the deer, the fish in the lakes, they all live in complete harmony.
Even if Erstera and Lalita live there with them. In a large tree house in the top of the emergent deep within the depths where no-man or women go. The shrubbery too thick and lack of lights scares them off. Nothing is of any jewels, so why would they travel this far into the dense foliage?
"It's time we get back. Erstera. We have less than an hour below the sun leaves us blind." Lalita speaks up, Erstera's head lowering to block her face again, she slowly nods in reply, leaning down and picking up the exceed. Her body swerving around and walking straight towards the lining of the trees.
Her movements calculated as she swirls around the bushes, my feet missing insects that scatter the ground. The fleeting sun barely seeping through the tree's thick leaves that coax each branch. The birds returning to their nests for it is the centre of spring. The chicks soon learning to fly within the next few weeks.
Lalita's wings sprout out as she hovers at Erstera's side. A large wooden made bridge that lead from one of the smaller tree's and up into the emergent, yet the leaves block the path halfway up. Gripping Erstera's quiver, she slowly flies them both up onto the beginning of the bridge.
Once feet planted on the wood, her wings vanish, plunking down on her shoulder and leaning back against the quiver as she crosses her arms. Erstera laughing faintly as she makes her ascent up. Her hands gripping the ropes up the side for balance.
Shifting the branches filled with leaves aside, they squeeze past, the branches flinging back into place the moment her fingers leave them. With a deep breathe they continue their walk up. The bridge getting steeper.
Pulling them both up Erstera releases a deep breathe halfway up. Looking up, a large wooden structure firmly in the top branches of the emergent trees. Extending over more than one tree by bridges that look unstable. Reaching the top, Lalita jumps off her shoulder and enters through the hole in the wooden structure where a door should be. No windows present either.
Pulling the hood down, Erstera walks towards the opposite side, traveling quickly along the unstable bridge before walking into the extra building, sliding her quiver off and placing it up against the wall, leaning back on a pile of leaves that lay crumples on the floor.
Many years.
Multiple months of building this place.
Multiple bruises lining her heart.
Multiple possibilities with her magic. Lost Magic.
The same sentence burned to her mind.
She is destined to be alone, only finding companionship from Lalita.
Closing her eyes, her furred cloak keeping her warm. The bright hues no longer lighting up the sky. Her breathing slowly becoming even. Her toes crumpling into the fur.
Snapping her eyes open, and jerking up. A loud roar wracking the forests floor. The once quiet forest now having fleeing animals.
"Erstera! We have a problem. Come'on!" Lalita yells, bursting through the entrance. Standing up quickly, Erstera grabs her quiver, strapping in on her back.
"Vastino Creian." Erstera speaks quickly. Lalita's body glows a bright purple. Her body dissipating before stretching out. A large bow hovering in her place. A pulse of magic elapsing along Erstera's back.
Grabbing the handle. She sprints out, Her body jumping straight off the edge of the tree house, landing on the branches and sprinting along them.
Another roar corrupting the forest. "We have to hurry. Erstera." Lalita mind-links. The bow with metal daggers out the sides, sharp and pointed, with metal coaxing the area around the handle. The same designs and markings coaxing the metal and material that are embedded on her quiver.
Sprinting quickly, they come to a direct halt at a clearing. Magical energy strong as she glances around. A large beast with thick, matted fur and a vicious snarl. Its eyes blazing with hatred.
"What the hell is that thing?" Lalita asks, their bodies still confined within the darkness. Jumping up onto a thick branch. She readies an arrow against Lalita's form. Pulling it back, eye level and ready to fire.
Her body crouching as her eyes narrow. Lalita sub-consciously nodding in a ready stance. With a firm deep breathe, her fingers halt from letting go. A blonde male jumping away from a swinging attack and attacking back. A creature just like Lalita with maroon fur hustling near the side, another one with a frog costume.
Her eyes widen as she lowers to bow and arrow. Lalita confused by her movements. A male with black hair standing off the opposite side of the clearing. The hair covering one of his eyes and black attire. Black coloured magic flying from his mouth, same with the Blonde.
Striking the monster down, she quickly raises her bow and aims quickly. Firing as it slices through the air, piercing the fur in the jugular of the beast. Blood shedding and splattering on the grass. The beast falling onto the ground, the strangers confused by the sudden change. With the beast whimpering in pain, the arrow still firmly in its jugular, Lalita glows and changes back, catching the attention of a certain frog costumed exceed. Erstera vanishes quickly, Lalita hidden within her cape.
The raven haired male, immediately seeing the arrow knows, they weren't alone in fighting it.
