{Eighteen}

Jack had finally regained the strength to go back to college. Sadly, he wasn't quite fit to play rugby again yet...
"At least you still get to coach the team?!" You said to him.
Jack and you were officially out as a couple and people did nothing but congratulate you. Everybody sympathised towards you for the person Mark turned out to be and to Jack for the beating he received.
Your hands were glued together, just like at the hospital and you approached the field. Mark was over the other side, alone. You didn't leave Jack just yet...
"Hey Cap, how you doing?" The vice captain asked.
Jack was given the nickname Cap when he was granted the position of Captain.
"A lot better, thank you. I've got a beautiful little lady taking care of me so I should be back in no time!" He smiled at you proudly.
"Ah! I'm glad you've found someone that isn't a Part-Korean Satan, (y/n)..." The vice captain looked down to you and smiled a little.
"Yeah, me too. This Greeny needs me. I guess I kinda need him too..." You laugh.
"Right, well. I better get on.. Don't want the team to turn to slackers without me!" He yelled.
"You're playing?" 'Vice' asked,
"Just coaching. I had to get back to rugby." Jack was a little saddened. Rugby meant everything to him. The competition, the aggression, the team work was what he lived for! It'd been taken away from him for weeks. The weeks Jack spent off were the weeks he spent contributing masses of work into the assignment.
It was a nice enough day to sit on the field, just a little away from the pitch rather than on an uncomfortable stadium chair. You were watching Jack closely, he was laughing with a few other team 'lads' and pretty much ignoring Mark.
Good on him. At least he's not scared...
"(Y/n)?" A woman's voice came from beside you.
You clocked your head up and to the side.
"What do you want, Signe!" You huffed.
"I'm sorry. I treated you like crap. I treated my best friend like that! I can't believe myself. And Jack, I never expected that from Mark. I know we're not all like we used to be but, I'd never wish that upon anyone. I'm sorry.." She was trembling.
"Look, it's not me you've gotta be sorry to. Jack and I are a team now, apologise to him.." You snapped.
"Just, think about it? I'll see you later?" She walked away sheepishly.
Laying flat on your back, you sighed.
Why have people gotta make things difficult?
Jack made you unrealistically happy, he was definitely the one.

It was just, there was something he wasn't telling you.
